Hypocrite? Take a closer look at what movie director offers audiences

Good old Quentin Tarantino.

He claims that the protests against his upcoming film will not deter him from continuing to speak out and to defend statements he made at a recent Black Lives Matter rally.

At that event, he shouted to a cheering crowd how he would "call murderers murderers" as he protested what he calls unnecessary police shootings.

There were victims' families in attendance, some of whom have indeed been the victims of unjust and unwarranted police attacks.

But what upset police unions and many others about Tarantino's rant is that it did not really offer any true view of the work the police do or the risks they face as they protect these communities.

In other words, it was more mouth music from a Hollywood know-nothing celebrity.

But all that aside, here is the ironic thing about Quentin Tarantino. Watch one of his movies, go ahead, we dare you.

Take a look at the unbelievably violent content -- gratuitous, really. Take a look at the way he portrays criminals.

That's right, he is part of the problem.

Bottom line is that violence is continuing and escalating in all communities, but it is particularly a problem in minority communities.

Police violence, while despicable, is by far the smallest part of the question. Focusing on only one portion of this issue is not only irresponsible, it is not going to do anything to protect any lives -- white, black or any other.

Too bad there is no one in Hollywood willing to take up that battle cry.
