Stage is set: Republican debate is going to be fun to watch

The lucky 10 have been selected and the plans are in place for Thursday's Republican presidential candidates' debate.

And for the first time in a long time, there are going to be a whole bunch of people talking about their vision for the country -- all on the same stage.

Millions of people are expected to watch -- and more than a few are already talking about the candidates.

And while there have been some bumps along the way -- and there are some people who will be watching just to hear what Donald Trump has to say -- the fact that there are so many people so willing to step up to the job is a good thing.

Now, a few tips for debate night.

You will have to watch and listen carefully       if you are watching to make your choice for the Republican you want to see as the party's        nominee.

Judge for yourself who is sincere, who has the chops and who has a vision.

And one other word of advice -- make your own observations. There will be plenty of pundits who will tell you how you are supposed to feel about the candidates' performance.

But if you watch yourself, and then read the synopsis the next day, you can decide for yourself from whom you are the most interested in hearing more.

The pundits and analysts (including us) don't have the answers. What you think matters.

So pop some popcorn, set your DVR and get ready for a show.

This is what democracy is all about.
