Call for supplies: Stop by tomorrow and help a child go back to school

It doesn't cost much when we all chip in.

But for many Wayne County families, the trappings of the first day back to school are just another expense they cannot afford.

That is why the News-Argus, in cooperation with Communities in Schools, is sponsoring its annual Stuff the Bus drive.

It is easy to help. When you buy the stuff for your children this year, put in an extra three-ring binder or a backpack into the cart.

You will give a child the thrill of having not only all the stuff he or she needs for his or her first day of school, but something new and fun to be proud of, too.

Don't you remember the days when you were excited to show everyone your new lunchbox, backpack or cool new pens and pencils?

Donating supplies also does something else for these youngsters. It gives them the tools they need to succeed. And that matters a lot.

So come on down and join us tomorrow.

Just don't forget to bring a notebook.
