Courage times 2: Relay for Life co-chairs are role models on how to live your life

There will be hundreds of volunteers scurrying around the Relay for Life event tonight.

And what has been a year of work and dedication will take flight, in part, because of the team of chairmen who have been planning the event tirelessly for months.

Without them, there would be no Relay.

But among those chairmen are two very special people who deserve special note -- Kasey Swartz and Joshua Weaver.

These two people were chosen to be the adult and youth co-chairmen respectively because of their poignant stories and their incredible courage.

To meet them is to understand what matters -- and why hope makes all the difference in how you conduct your life, or battle cancer.

Both these people -- much too young to be dealing with so serious a medical condition -- are the epitome of caring, positivity and a realization that family, heart and joy are what matter no matter what kind of challenge you face.

They could teach us all a lesson.

So we honor them today -- along with all of those who are fighting cancer or who have earned the title of "survivor."

They are why we will be at Relay.
