Politics, politics: Democratic bloc faces Obamacare reality

Isn't it interesting that Sen. Kay Hagan was staunchly for Obamacare and refused to budge on delaying its implementation until Tuesday night/Wednesday morning?

So what do you think the reason might be?

Could it be that she had a revelation and suddenly realized that there were people losing insurance and others who could not even access the website? Could it be that she saw the potential flaws and pitfalls in the plan?

Hardly.

Sen. Hagan went to see the president along with a bunch of other Democrats who will face opponents in 2014 for one reason only -- she is worried about saving her job.

Tuesday's election results share a rather stark story for the Democrats who joined the block of any move by the Republicans to delay the implementation of Obamacare.

And Sen. Hagan also was silent as members of Congress received waivers and sought special treatment for their staffs -- and when the president exempted his political allies.

Nope, this is not about what's best for North Carolina -- or the nation. It is politics, pure and simple.

Keep that in mind as you decide where to cast your vote next fall.
