Hailey Danielle Chase and Barney Hiram Kirby exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Feb. 3 at 5 o’clock in the evening at Benson United Methodist Church, with Mr. Stacey Jones officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Robbie and Pam Chase of Pikeville and the granddaughter of James and Audrey Chase of Pikeville.

The bride is a 2016 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree. She is currently enrolled at North Carolina Central University School of Law pursuing her Juris Doctorate with her anticipated graduation being May 2019.

The groom is the son of Mike and Julia Kirby of Pikeville and the grandson of the late Barney and Rachel Kirby of Pikeville, Billie Jean Grantham of Goldsboro and the late Hiram Grantham of Goldsboro.

He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Mount Olive. He is employed as a salesman at Harvey’s Fertilizer and Gas.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an elegant gown of beaded embroidery and lace. The bodice of the gown featured a deep V neckline with encrusted sequins, pearls and beads. The straps in the back flowed to a shimmering mesh detailed with matching sequins and pearls. A fit-and-flare skirt with beaded lace flowed into a semi-cathedral train with a scalloped hemline.

Her headpiece was a fingertip-length veil embellished with rhinestones, beads and sequins.

She carried a large hand-tied bouquet of burgundy carnations, champagne roses, silver brunnia, dusty miller, blue mountain thistle and seeded eucalyptus.

Ashley Joyner, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor, while Summer Mitchell, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Brandi Chase, sister-in-law of the bride; Mackenzie Jones, cousin of the bride; and Blake Turnage, Miranda Taylor, Jade Woodard and Jordyn Howell, friends of the bride.

Mike Kirby, father of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Phillip Kirby, brother of the groom; C.G. Kirby, Josh Kirby and Dustin Letchworth, cousins of the groom; Jeremy Chase, brother of the bride; and Brett Lancaster and Will Spence, friends of the groom.

Miley Jones, cousin of the bride, was a junior bridesmaid.

Ushers were Blake Stephens and Brett Marriner, cousins of the groom.

Jonah Joyner, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer.

Janice Holland directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Brie Stephens and Alyssa Letchworth, cousins of the groom.

A program of wedding music was provided by Joshua A. Rodriguez, pianist, along with Mallory Williford and Jeremy Chase as vocalists.

The reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at the Preston Woodall House in Benson, N.C.

The couple resides in Pikeville, N.C.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted at Stoney Creek Church by the groom’s parents.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower Nov. 5 given by family and friends of the bride; a wedding shower Dec. 17 given by family of the groom; a wedding shower Jan. 14 given by friends of the groom; a Christmas shower Dec. 2 given by Jordyn Howell, Judy Howell, Jade Woodard and Linda Woodard; and a bridal luncheon hosted by Kim Jones, Mackenzie Jones, Miley Jones, Ashley Joyner and Summer Mitchell.
