WILMINGTON, NC - Elizabeth Gray West of Goldsboro, N.C., and Benjamin Michael Green of Hockessin, Del., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 22, 2017, at 4 p.m. at Brooklyn Arts Center at St. Andrews in Wilmington, N.C., with Dan Mason officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thad C. West III of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Ellen Gray West and the late T.C. West of LaGrange and the late Willard and Jessie Edwards of Raleigh.

She is a 2015 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise and sports science. She is currently a second-year graduate student at Campbell University pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

The groom is the son of Michael Eric Green of Charlotte and Gretchen Glenn Thompson of Hockessin and the grandson of Don and Sally Green of Wilmington, Del., and the late Dr. William “Budd” and Peggy Glenn of Boone.

He is a 2016 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. He is currently employed with TRUgaming as a media and marketing director in Apex, N.C.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a full-length sleeveless lace trumpet gown with a chapel-length train. She carried a large, hand- tied bouquet of white alabaster garden roses, white tibet roses, white lady spray roses and greenery to include seeded eucalyptus, bay leaf,- and olive branch tied with a white ribbon.

Hanna West, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Morgan Johnson, Grace West and Anna West, cousins of the bride; Katie Green and Maggie Green, sisters of the groom; Chloe Thompson, stepsister of the groom; Kristian Parks; Elizabeth Deans; and Olivia de Araujo.

Tyler Green, brother of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Ty West, Clay West and Tate West, brothers of the bride; Coy West, cousin of the bride; Mason Ford; Hayden Ford; Harry Ford; Alec Schleicher; and Kevin Chen.

Emalia West and Brylee West, cousins of the bride, were flower girls.

Cade West, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Becca Taylor directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Sophie de Araujo, Bree LaFevers and Anna Scott LaFevers. Ryan Joyce, Evan Dancy, Sally Enz and McKayla Parks distributed programs.

Will Fickling read special Scripture.

A program of wedding music was provided by Anita Poland, pianist, and Christian Yarbrough, vocalist.

A reception was held at Brooklyn Arts Center at St. Andrews.

After a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple resides in Lillington, N.C.

A rehearsal dinner was held at The River Room on the riverfront in downtown Wilmington, N.C., given by Gretchen and John Thompson, Michael Green and Johnnie Willis.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower given by family and friends Oct. 28, 2017, at Walnut Creek Country Club; a bridal supper given by friends at the home of Lori de Araujo Nov. 12, 2017; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon given by Nancy Edison, Linda Edwards, Mary Edwards, Ellen Edwards, Susan Edwards and Sharron Edwards given Dec. 21, 2017, at the Wilmington Riverside Hilton.
