Sarah Jennette Edwards and Darius Uriah Duong exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 14, 2017, at 1 pm. The ceremony was held outdoors at Greenfield Lake Fragrance Garden, with friend, Todd Claussen, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph Donald Edwards Jr. and Susan Pratt Edwards of Goldsboro, N.C. The bride is the granddaughter of the late Donald and Evelyn Edwards of Goldsboro, N.C., and the late Thomas and Mary Pratt of Lewisville, N.C.

She graduated from Meredith College with a Master of Science degree in nutrition, later to obtain certification as a registered dietitian. She is currently employed with Summerfield Custom Wellness, an out-patient nutrition counselling firm located in Wilmington, N.C.

The groom is the son of Sammie Duong of Whiteville, N.C., and the grandson of Cortland and Bobbie Varnam of Varnamtown, N.C.

After attending North Carolina at Chapel Hill radiation therapy program, he later graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a Master of Science degree in medical dosimetry. He is currently employed as a certified medical dosimetrist with New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, N.C.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, with her niece, Sophie Ellison Edwards, serving as flower girl.

Assorted flowers, eucalyptus and wild greenery were provided by Eco Chic Blossoms.

The chosen wedding coordinator was Morella Wojton from Atlanta, Ga. The wedding music was provided by cellist, Michael Hickman and pianist, Jerald Shynett.

Special readings were given by cousin of the bride, Melissa Jordan, and friend, Melanie Jolley. The event was captured by photographer, Ethan Gaskill, and videographer, Morgan Robertson.

A reception was given by the parents of the bride, and held at Palate Bottle Shop and Reserve in downtown Wilmington. Grassroots music provided by the Time Sawyer Band welcomed all guests to the reception.

The bride and groom also organized a playlist for late night dancing under the string lights, adorned with greenery. Heavy hors d’oeuvres were prepared by Pine Valley Market, and decadent cheesecake bars were served from J.P.’s Pastry in Benson, N.C.

After a wedding trip to Bali and Thailand, the couple resides in Wilmington, N.C.
