Overman-Cauley
Elizabeth Lynne Overman and Ivey Phineas Cauley exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 29, 2017, at 4:30 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James H. Harry officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David Harrell and Lorenda Bevell Overman of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Minnie Overman and the late David John Overman of Goldsboro, Gary and Pat Bevell of Goldsboro and Rebecca Bevell of Goldsboro.
The groom is the son of the late Christopher Roscoe Cauley Jr., the late Linda Ivey Cauley and Mrs. Roxie Massengill Cauley of LaGrange and the grandson of the late Christopher Roscoe Cauley Sr. and Frances Sutton Cauley of Kinston and the late Lelland and Verna Bell Sugg Ivey of LaGrange.
Mrs. Betsy Lee Overman Roberson served as matron of honor, while Mr. Christopher Roscoe Cauley III served as best man.
A program of wedding music was provided by Dr. John Denning, pianist, and Mrs. Betsy Roberson, Mrs. Rachel Hydrick and Ms. Grace Sugg, vocalists.
Dr. Bill Weisser was organist.
A reception was given by the parents of the bride and held at Goldsboro Events Center directly following the ceremony.
A rehearsal dinner was given by Mrs. Roxie Cauley and Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Cauley at Ed’s Southern Food and Spirits.
Events held before the wedding included a shower given by the friends of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church; a shower held at Providence United Methodist Church by the Fellowship Sunday school class; an “I Do Barbecue” thrown by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Massengill, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Fella Rouse, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Sutton and Mrs. Gail Coltrain; dinners held in honor of the couple by Mr. and Mrs. Eric Weeks, Mr. and Mrs. Borden Weeks and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Williams; a ladies’ brunch thrown by Mrs. Brenda Cox; and a dinner held by Mrs. Betsy Roberson.
