Ashley Skylar Bunch of Morgantown, W. Va., and Robert Stuart Point of Morgantown, W. Va., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 13, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at the home of the groom’s parents in an outdoor ceremony on the shore overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway in Wilmington, with the Rev. Patrick Muston officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David and Kim Hollowell Bunch of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Mrs. Jean Aswell Hollowell of Goldsboro, the late Ruben A. Hollowell, Mrs. Jean Bunch of Mount Olive and the late Bill Bunch.

She is a 2008 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, N.C., with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. She is employed as a marketing representative at Evolve Companies LLC.

The groom is the son of Dr. Judge and Cris Carlson Point of Wilmington and the grandson of Mrs. Renee Carlson of Rockville, Md., the late Jack Carlson, Ms. Sarah Watkins Point of Wilmington and Dr. and Mrs. Bob Point of Black Mountain.

He is a 2009 graduate of Cape Fear Academy and a 2013 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is pursuing a Doctorate in dentistry at West Virginia University Dental School.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a sleeveless Maggie Sottero floor-length gown with a chapel train. The romantic wedding dress was accented with ivory lace appliques overlaid on champagne satin, and cascaded down the bodice, adorning the shoulders and the illusion neckline and edging the hemline. Beading and pearls adorned the bodice, shoulders, neckline and the elegant plunging V-back.

For her headpiece, the bride chose a one-layered silk illusion beaded veil. She carried a bouquet of white and blush roses wrapped in satin that was adorned with two broaches belonging to her maternal and paternal great-grandmothers in their memory.

Mrs. Kristen Coleman, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor, while Ms. Amber Romeo, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sara Carter, friend of both (introduced the bride and groom); Kayla Huckabee, cousin of the bride; and Kari Walls, friend of the bride.

David Point, brother of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Dr. Dana Point, brother of the groom; Ryan Point, brother of the groom; Ethan Lubanski, friend of the groom; and Ben Unger, friend of the groom.

Ushers were Will Bunch, brother of the bride, and Alex Batey, Corey Dawson and Patrick Ledbetter, friends of the groom.

Savannah Huckabee, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

Kylie Bunch and Madison Bunch, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

Music was provided by Christine Meyers and Katherine Meyers, violinists, and David Meyers, cellist, friends of the groom.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted an outdoor dinner and dance at the Point residence. The bride and groom had their first toast with the same champagne flutes used by the bride’s parents at their wedding.

The couple resides in Morgantown, W. Va.

May 12, the groom’s parents hosted an outdoor rehearsal dinner at their home with the bluegrass band Massive Grass providing entertainment.

Events held before the wedding included a holiday drop-in Dec. 27, 2016, hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Charles Neal at their home in Wilmington to meet and greet the future Mr. and Mrs. Rob Point; a bridal shower brunch hosted by friends of the bride March 4, 2017, at Selah Christian Church; a bachelorette weekend March 31 through April 2, 2017, in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by Amber Romeo and Kristen Coleman; a bachelor’s weekend held April 21 through 23 in Bristol, Tenn., for a NASCAR race; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 12, 2017, at Blue Water Grill in Wrightsville, Beach, N.C., hosted by aunts and grandmothers of the bride.
