Hannah Marie Darden and “Trey” Dan Roger Millard III exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 4, 2017, at 1 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with pastor Bill Rose officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Richard A. Darden Jr. and Angela Kissinger Darden of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Barbara Darden and the late Richard Darden of Wilson and Jesse and Marguerite “Pat” Kissinger of Goldsboro.

She is a 2014 graduate of Wayne Christian School, and attends East Carolina University. She is employed at Wayne Christian School.

The groom is the son of Dan Roger Millard Jr. and Tammy Cox Millard of Goldsboro and the grandson of Dan and Sharon Millard of Goldsboro and Ann Cox and the late Sammy Cox of Goldsboro.

He is a 2012 graduate of Charles B. Aycock, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion in 2015 from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Master of Theological Studies degree in 2016 from Liberty University. He is employed as a youth and children’s pastor at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Kinston, N.C.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an elegant mermaid-style gown adorned with Alencon lace appliqués. The veil was a cathedral-length illusion with Alencon lace.

The bride wore her mother’s pearl-trimmed satin gloves, also worn by her mother in her wedding in 1990.

Kaylin Darden, sister of the bride, was both maid of honor and flower girl.

Bridesmaids were Carlee Millard, sister of the groom; Sara Payne and Lindsey Gregg, cousins of the bride; and Elizabeth Murray and Victoria Combs.

Dan Millard, father of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Cade Cox and Kyler Cox, cousins of the groom; and Bryan Johnson, Blake Weaver and and Eddie Taylor.

Doormen were Tyler Weeks, Taurean Armstrong, Nic Blanco and Ronnie Person, friends of the couple.

Davis Payne, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Tammy Oxendine directed the wedding. Marion Oxendine distributed programs.

Wedding music featuring a clarinet and piano duet provided by Michael and Maria Kissinger of Washington state, uncle and aunt of the bride. The bride’s uncle was also the vocalist, accompanied by his wife, pianist.

The bride’s parents hosted a reception at Lane Tree Golf Club. Guests were welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Emory Daly. The bride and her dad and the groom and his mom each had a special dance. The wedding cake was made by the mother of the bride as a gift to the couple. After a wedding trip, the couple resides in Goldsboro.

A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church fellowship hall.

Events held before the wedding included a shower Jan. 21 at Patetown Church of God given by Dana Potter, Dee Warrick, Gail Elmore and Barbara Darden; a couple’s shower Jan. 21 given by aunts, uncles and grandparents of the groom; a shower Feb. 4 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church given by Vicki Sparks, Lindsey Gregg, Sara Payne, Tammy Millard, Carlee Millard, Pat Kissinger and Angie Darden, with Toni Brown and Mesha Burton serving guests; a shower Feb. 26 hosted by friends at the First Pentecostal Holiness church in Kinston; and a bridal luncheon March 3 hosted at the Kissinger home and given by the grandmothers, Barbara Darden, Ann Cox, Sharon Millard and Marguerite Kissinger.
