Elle Danielle Dubberly and James Branson Vickory exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 23, 2016, at 5 p.m. at Coral Bay Club of Atlantic Beach, with the Rev. James Gurkins officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Clinton David Dubberly of Courtland, Va., and Mary Brickhouse Dubberly of Fremont, the stepdaughter of Debra Britt Dubberly of Courtland, Va., and the granddaughter of the late Clinton “Dub” Dubberly and LaMonte Hill Dubberly of Fremont and Joseph Claude and Marie Terry Brickhouse of Dudley.

She graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in communications studies. She is employed as an independent consultant with Rodan + Fields.

The groom is the son of Charles Branson Vickory III of Mount Olive and Deborah Morelock Vickory of Mount Olive and the grandson of Alice Denson Vickory and the late Charles Branson Vickory Jr. of Mount Olive, the late James Edward and Jean Kluttz Marr of Goldsboro and the late Jimmie Harold Morelock.

He graduated from Mount Olive College in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration/business management. He is employed as a technical service representative at Zoetis.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her mother and father.

She wore a beautifully draped silk Waverly gown that wrapped around the body by Modern Trousseau. It featured a sweetheart neckline. During the ceremony, she wore an etheral Eugenia Couture overskirt, complete with layers of gathered soft tulle with pearl detailing on the belt. The dress was accented with a gorgeous Jenny Packham soft tulle veil with ribbon edging and pearl and crystal detailing. For the reception, the skirt was replaced by a gold jeweled belt made by Modern Trousseau. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of light pink and medium pink David Austin garden roses wrapped in ivory satin.

Jessica D. Hoffman - sister of the bride, served as matron of honor, while bridesmaids were Paige V. Barwick, sister of the groom; Stephanie Cummings, friend of the bride; Amy Jo Jones, friend of the bride; Stephanie Lewis, friend of the bride; Mimi Steed, friend of the bride; Sarah Tucker, friend of the bride; and Jenny Westbrook, friend of the bride.

Charles Branson Vickory III, father of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Owen Benton, friend of the groom; Casey Best, friend of the groom; Nick Dubberly, brother of the bride; Anthony Grady, friend of the groom; Porter Jones, friend of the groom; Sterling Tadlock, friend of the groom; and Stephen Witt, friend of the groom.

Honorary groomsmen were Jack Hoffman, nephew of the bride; Sam Hoffman, nephew of the bride; and Max Hoffman, nephew of the bride.

Mary Channing Hoffman, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Carson Dubberly, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Tammy Roys directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kate Nielsen. Hayden Nielsen distributed programs.

Jill Nielsen was a very special helper.

Casey Sutton was vocalist. Paige V. Barwick, sister of the groom, was the violinist. Brandon Jones, cousin of the bride, was the guitarist.

The reception was held at Coral Bay Club.

After the wedding, the couple had a week-long refresher in Emerald Isle with the bride’s family. A tropical honeymoon is being planned for March. The couple resides in Fremont.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower hosted by the bridesmaids at the home of Mimi Steed July 10, 2016; a bachelorette weekend held in Charleston, S.C., hosted by the bridesmaids July 14 through 17, 2016; a bachelor weekend held in Emerald Isle hosted by the groomsmen July 14 through 17, 2016; a cocktail party hosted by friends at Southern Wayne Country Club Aug. 6, 2016; a bridal shower hosted by aunts and close family friends of the bride at Sleepy Creek Clubhouse Aug. 7, 2016; a pool party/dinner hosted by father and stepmother of the bride at their home in Virginia Aug. 13, 2016; a monogram and mimosa shower hosted by the Nielsen girls at their home Aug. 19, 2016; a welcome dinner for the bridal party and family hosted by father and stepmother of the bride in Emerald Isle Sept. 21, 2016; and a bridal luncheon hosted by mother and stepmother of the bride at Coral Bay Club Sept. 22, 2016.
