Lauren Ashley Vinson and Zachary Davis Phillips of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 20, 2014, at 5 p.m. at Goldsborough Bridge Battlefield in Dudley, N.C., with Dr Glenn F. Phillips Jr., uncle of the groom, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of James and Lillian Vinson of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Annie Laura Casey of Goldsboro, the late Tony Vinson of LaGrange and Mr. and Mrs. William Woolard of Goldsboro.

The bride graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2011. She plans to attend Austin Peay University in Tennessee.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry C. Phillips of Goldsboro, N.C., and the grandson of Glenn F. Phillips of Goldsboro, the late Gladys M. Phillips of Goldsboro and J.C. Davis and Ruby Davis of Goldsboro.

The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2012. He is now serving in United States Army.

The bride was escorted by James E. Vinson, father, and given in marriage by her parents.

The bride wore an ivory tulle mermaid gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline. It was accented with a crystal embellishment at the waist.

She wore a headband of rhinestones and crystals.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of midnight miniature callas, orange gerbera daisies, fern fronds, blue delphinium and baby’s breath. It was accented with curly willow, and wrapped with burlap and lace.

Rae Ann Edmundson of Goldsboro, N.C., cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Haley Taylor of Pikeville, N.C., Kelly Mercer of Pikeville, N.C., Shelly Carr of Pikeville, N.C., Harlie Howard of Goldsboro, N.C., and and Tressa Jeffries of Fremont, N.C., friends of the bride

Jerry C. Phillips, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Rob Phillips of Goldsboro, N.C., cousin of the groom; Josh Phillips of Goldsboro, N.C., cousin of the groom; Billy Leggett of Goldsboro, N.C., friend of the groom; Ryan Mitchell of Goldsboro, N.C., friend of the groom; and Will Vinson of Wilmington, N.C., brother of the bride.

Logan Leamy, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer. He carried the rings on the bride’s father’s childhood Bible.

Dana Vinson, cousin of the bride, and Kay Ballance, friend of the family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Reagan Hinton, cousin of the groom. Trey Hinton, cousin of the groom, distributed programs.

Johnny Carr , friend of the bride’s family, provided the brides chosen music at the wedding and reception.

A reception was held after the wedding in a beautifully decorated rustic barn located at Goldsborough Bridge Battlefield in Dudley, N.C.

The couple resides in Fort Campbell, Oak Grove, Ky.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Phillips, groom’s parents, at the club house at Sleepy Creek in Dudley, N.C.

Events held before the wedding included a bachlorette weekend and lingerie shower in Atlantic Beach hosted by Parker Edmundson, aunt of the bride, and Rae Ann Edmundson, maid of honor and cousin of bride; a shower hosted by the Opportunities Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Goldsboro, N.C.; a bridal shower hosted by Annie Laura Casey, grandmother of the bride, and Parker Edmundson, aunt of the bride, at Lane Tree Golf Club; and a bridal luncheon hosted by the aunts of the groom at The Horse Barn in Goldsboro, N.C.
