Robin Lear Peacock and Michael Harvey Dawson exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 11, 2014, at 5 o’clock p.m. at the bride’s home, with the Rev. Michael Hamm officiating.

The bride is the daughter of John Merritt Lear Peacock of Goldsboro and the late Donna Van Benthuysen Peacock of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Robert Howell Peacock III of Atlantic Beach, the late Robin Lear Peacock of Goldsboro and the late Richard and Helen Van Benthuysen of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2002, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Va., in 2010 with a master’s in physician assistant studies. She is employed as a physician assistant at Goldsboro Orthopedics.

The groom is the son of Shelton Hardy Dawson and the late Minnie Price Dawson of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Joseph and Beatrice Dawson of Goldsboro and the late Edgar and Florence Price of Goldsboro.

He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1994 and Mount Olive College in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. He is employed as a task force officer with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office .

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father and John Burwell Parker.

She wore an ivory lace gown with English net. It featured a V-shaped neckline with cap sleeves and a crest train. Lace covered the open back with buttons.

The fingertip-length veil was sheer ivory accented with lace trim.

Elizabeth Parker Harris of Raleigh was matron of honor.

Haley VanLauren Peacock of Raleigh was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Grace Mathis Heffner of Southern Pines, Jamie Pike Kelly of Raleigh, and Ashley Keesee Warren of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Shelton Hardy Dawson of Goldsboro was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Michael Hamilton Wiggins of Goldsboro, Jerry Sutton Jackson Jr. of Goldsboro and Michael Hamilton Wiggins II of Goldsboro.

Deacon Gloria Price was Scripture reader.

Mary Ann Parker of Goldsboro directed the wedding. Caraleigh Mewborn and Kari Jackson of Goldsboro, nieces of the groom, distributed programs.

Paige Barwick of Mount Olive and Nowell Strings of Wilson, N.C., were musicians.

A reception was held at the bride’s home following the ceremony.

After a wedding trip to Seaside, Fla., the couple reside in Dudley, N.C.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s family at Lane Tree Golf Club.

Events held before the wedding included engagement parties held at Jack’s Waterfront Bar in Morehead City and Crystal Coast Country Club in Pine Knoll Shores, hosted by family and friends; a bridal shower hosted by co-workers of the bride; a monogram shower hosted by friends; and a bridal luncheon hosted by the bride’s family.
