Kelsey Elaine Suttenfield of Fuquay-Varina and Samuel Charlie Lawhorn of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Feb. 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh, with Dr. Bob Stancil officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Matt Suttenfield of Mountain View, Calif., and Elizabeth Wrenn Suttenfield of Fuquay-Varina and the granddaughter of the late Melinda Powell Sutherby of Pickens, S.C., and Bill and Judy Wrenn of Fuquay-Varina.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. She is employed as an administrative assistant for meetings and events at the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association.

The groom is the son of Tommy and Rebecca Barwick Lawhorn of Grantham and the grandson of the late Charlie and Iris Holland Lawhorn and Joyce Sanderson Barwick of Grantham and the late Harvey Jay Barwick.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. He is employed as a special investigations engineer at the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Olivia Gregory, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Mann, Mary Ashlyn Thomas, Ariel Wortham and Sylvia Wrenn.

Tommy Lawhorn, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jason Bingham, Matt Chapman, Johnathan Lee and Caleb Suttenfield.

A reception of traditional southern food followed the ceremony. The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Providence Baptist Church.

After a wedding trip to Ochos Rios, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Raleigh, N.C.
