Mrs. Harford

Jamie Lee Johnson of Goldsboro and Joshua Stephen Harford of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 23, 2013, at half past 3 o’clock at Rose Hill Plantation. The vows were exchanged under a lakeside gazebo with Dr. Andrew Davis officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Donald Johnson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Dr. Donald C. Johnson of Washington, N.C., Betty C. Johnson of Washington, N.C., William J. Richardson of Pinehurst, N.C., and the late Jo M. Richardson and Linda D. Johnson both of Washington.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of Spring Creek High School and a 2013 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering with a concentration in biomolecular and minors in biotechnology and Spanish. She is employed as a process engineer in the Technical Professional Development Program at Hospira Inc., in Clayton, N.C.

The groom is the son of Mr.and Mrs. James Joseph Harford III of Rougemont, N.C., and the grandson of James J. Harford II of Jekyll Island, Ga., Arlene Harford of Columbus, Ga., Ora Jean Banks of Rougemont and the late William Banks.

The groom is a 2009 graduate of Epignosis Christian Academy and a 2013 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering, biomaterials concentration and minors in biological sciences and vocal music performance. He is currently applying to medical school for the acceptance the fall of 2014.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by parents.

The bride wore a modern vintage ivory lace gown over a silk charmeuse that was adorned with rhinestones, crystals and pearl beading.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet with white roses, Picasso miniature callas, purple caspia and Queen Anne lace.

Jennifer Lauren Johnson, and Jaclyn Michelle Johnson, sisters of bride, were maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Ms. Alexandra Morrison, Ms. Lauren Player, Ms. Allison Hofmann, Ms. Lauren Olney, Ms. Elizabeth Robson and Ms. Jessica Daniel.

Mr. Matthew Harford, brother of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Mr. James Harford IV, Mr. Joel Harford, Mr. Matthew Meinel, Mr. John Lyle, Mr. Andrew Jones, Mr. Anmar Al-Sultani and Mr. Michael Reed.

Miss Kate Richardson, cousin of bride, and Miss Bree Lafevers,Miss Anna Scott Lafevers, friends of the bride, were flower girls.

Mr. Kyle Richardson, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Mrs. Candy Whitley and Mrs. Barbara Novicki directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Ms. Katie Sayce and Ms. Sarah Sayce, cousins of the bride.

Mrs. Charlotte Murphy was wedding planner/assistant to mother of the bride.

Scripture readers were Ms. Deborah Harford and Ms. Elizabeth Harford, sisters of the groom.

A program of wedding music was provided by Ms. Christina Harford, sister of the groom, vocalist; Mr. Benjamin George, guitarist; Ms. Rebekah Givens, violinist; and Mr. Aaron Fleming, cellist.

The bride’s parents hosted a reception at Rose Hill Plantation. Following the ceremony, guests were directed to the 18th-century Manor House for a cocktail hour. A dinner and dance reception was held in Nathan Hall ballroom that adjoins the house.

After a wedding trip to Maroma Beach, Mexico, the couple resides in Raleigh, N.C.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Nashville Exchange in downtown Nashville, N.C. The guests were entertained with music from the Harford Boys family band. A surprise performance was a solo sung by the groom to his bride.

Events held before the wedding included a shower honoring the bride given by Mrs. Kim LaFevers and Mrs. Sharon LaFevers; a couple’s shower given by Cindy and Karl Sayce and Amy and Bobby Richardson, relatives of the bride, in Pinehurst, N.C.; an engagement party hosted by family and friends at Walnut Creek Country Club; a lingerie shower held in Chapel Hill hosted by Lauren Player and Jessica Daniel; and a bridesmaid luncheon Nov. 22 held at Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount hosted by Mrs. Diana Pike and Mrs. Pam Cunningham.
