Mary Beth Morgan of Mount Olive and Samuel Ernest Taylor Jr. of Mount Olive exchanged vows in a ceremony Oct. 5, 2013, at 4 p.m. at The Boathouse in Beaufort, N.C., with the Rev. Steven Arthur Wicks and Harlan Wayne Whiting officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Morgan of Mount Olive, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L.A. McClanahan of Kentucky and the late Mr. and Mrs. Murray Morgan of Kentucky.

She is a 1989 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 1993 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is owner of Beaufort Skies LLC in association with Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes and Fries corporate office in Mount Olive.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ernest Taylor Sr. of Mount Olive and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Taylor of Mount Olive and the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodard Dail of Mount Olive.

He is a 1994 graduate of Wayne Country Day School and a 1998 graduate of Mount Olive College. He is owner of Taylor Trucking LLC and Sea Gobbler Farms.

The bride was escorted by her father and son, Thomas Avery Rouse, and given in marriage by her family.

The bride wore an ivory chiffon tea length gown with a shirred square neckline accented with a silver braided belt.

She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, roses and tulips, and wore the groom’s grandmother’s heirloom watch.

Mandy Morgan Peters, sister of the bride, and Tammy Taylor Haywood, sister of the groom, served as matrons of honor.

Samuel Ernest Taylor Sr. and Kenneth Clarke Haywood Jr. served as the groom’s best men.

Flower girls were Morgan Virginia Peters, niece of the bride, and Anna Taylor Haywood, niece of the groom.

Ring bearers were Jackson Diedrich Peters and Graham Scott Peters, nephews of the bride.

Honorary bridesmaids were Milly Maxwell Ferrell, Brooks Daly Garrett and Kristin Umphlette Whitting all of Mount Olive, Christy Pons Gonene of Eugene, Ore., Emily Loren Kelly and Lisa Renee Kelly of Topsail Island, Dawn Isabelle Miller of Asheboro, Robin Fowler Warren of Princeton and Jessica Alice Morgan of Washington, D.C.

Ushers were Bradford Dean Gurley and Neil Moultrie Hine of Goldsboro and Kenneth Clarke Haywood Sr. and David Diedrich Peters of Raleigh.

Mr. and Mrs. James Kornegay, friends of the bride and groom, served at the guest registry, and their sons, Grant Kornegay and Jacob Kornegay, distributed programs.

Music was provided by Paige Vickory Barwick, violinist, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilson Boyd Jr., vocalists.

Mrs. Scottie Tolar Bryan, dear friend of the couple, served as wedding director.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Boathouse.

A neighborhood party was given by family and friends of the Dail and Daly families prior to the wedding.

A rehearsal dinner was held at The Boathouse on Friday night given by the groom’s family.

After a honeymoon trip in November, the couple will reside in Mount Olive.
