Meagan Whitworth Jackson and Eric Christian Bourgeois exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 7, 2012, at 5 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Andrew Clark officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jeffrey Brian and Julie Rouse Jackson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Thurman Royall and Ruby Brown Jackson of Goldsboro, Donald Caswell Rouse Jr. and Ann Purcell Rouse of Raleigh and the late Pamela Seavers Talbot of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2006 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, majoring in finance and economics. She is employed as a financial advisor at Raymond James Financial Services.

The groom is the son of David Lee Bourgeois Jr. and Rosa Gonzalez Bourgeois of Goldsboro and the grandson of David Lee Bourgeois Sr. of Rochester, N.Y., the late Kathleen Mae Bourgeois of Rochester and Eleuteria Gonzalez and the late Trinidad Gonzalez of Alamogordo, N.M.

He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2006 and Mount Olive College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. He is now attending East Carolina University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and will graduate in May 2013.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a slim fitted gown in ivory lace with a charmeuse slip, a high neckline with contoured straps that continued to a keyhole back, cap sleeves with a chapel-length train and a fingertip veil of lace and pearl trim.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white peonies, white hydrangeas, peach astilbe, mini calla lilies and coral hypericum berries.

Caitlin Collins served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Karen Benton, Rosey Carter, Lauren Humphrey, Ashton Jackson, Kristin Jones and Wendi Witek.

Jin Lee served as best man.

Groomsmen were David Bourgeois, Michael Gore, Taylor Jackson, Drew Jackson, Dustin Smith and Thomas Thornton.

Carson and Reagan McWhorter served as flower girls.

Rowen Bourgeois served as ringbearer.

Ellen Jordan and Candy Whitley directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Deniz Alemdar and Tina Guijarro. Elisa Garcia, Caitlin McCall, Betty Brandt Rouse and Anna Wilkins distributed programs. Lindsay Hancock read ceremony scripture.

The bride’s parents hosted a reception following the ceremony at Walnut Creek Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Falcone and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moore greeted guests at the reception. Bethany Perry and Dava Rose were reception directors.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the bride’s home.

Events held before the wedding included a kitchen shower hosted by Suzanna and Elisa Garcia; a couple’s shower hosted by college friends at Wrightsville Beach; a bridal shower hosted by the bride’s aunts and cousins; an engagement party hosted by family and friends; bridal shower hosted by Becky Mayo, Helen Jernigan and Holly Steed; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Chef and the Farmer hosted by Lisa Melton, Betsy Ramsey, Suzanne Rouse, Phyllis Singleton and Sandra Wilkins.

After a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Goldsboro.
