Kelly Suzanne Langston and Craig Scott Capps exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 7, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. at Garris Chapel United Methodist Church in LaGrange, with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Phillip Morris Sr. and Mrs. Paulette Harmon Scarboro of Goldsboro and Mr. William Bryant Langston of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Mr. George Dallas Langston Sr., Mrs. Lois Casteen Langston of Goldsboro, Mrs. Ivor Deane Peele Harmon and the late Mr. Dewey Tyson Harmon Jr. of Goldsboro.

She attended Eastern Wayne High School, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education. She is also a graduate of East Carolina University with an MaEd in elementary education and also received certification from East Carolina University for school administration. She is employed as a principal for Wayne County Public Schools.

The groom is the son of Mr. Russell Craig and Mrs. Debbie Vinson Capps of LaGrange and the grandson of Mrs. Marjorie Smith Hensley of Goldsboro, the late Mr. William Linwood Capps Sr. of Goldsboro and Mrs. Norma Ann Jackson Vinson and the late Mr. Billy Ray Vinson of LaGrange.

He attended Eastern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College. He is employed as a ministry director of Broken Chains at The Bridge Church.

The bride was given in marriage by her family.

She wore a crystal- and pearl-embellished hair comb and a pearl- and crystal-edged elbow length, single-tiered veil.

The bride wore a satin A-line gown with a draped split front overlay with beaded pearl lace appliqués.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of Vogue roses, hot pink carnations, green mini hydrangeas, green spider poms and red hypericum berries adorned with white satin ribbon and pearl pins.

Mrs. Lindsey Scarboro Brown, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor, while Miss Connor Ellyn Langston, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. Marisa McGill Montgomery, friend of the bride, Mrs. Michelle Bartlett Hamm, friend of the bride, and Mrs. Tracy Wilson Thomas, friend of the bride.

Mr. Russell Craig Capps, father of the groom, served as best man.

Mr. Billy Steven Capps, brother of the groom, was the groomsman.

Ushers were Mr. Joshua Austin Gandy, friend of the groom, Mr. Joseph Lee Lancaster, friend of the groom, Mr. Jeremy Brad Mitchell, cousin of the groom, Mr. Gabriel Jay Mitchell, cousin of the groom, and Mr. Russ Hunter Vinson, cousin of the groom.

Miss Riley Grace Brown, niece of the bride, and Miss Sally Ann Mitchell, cousin of the groom, were flower girls.

Mr. Braydon Ray Southerland was ringbearer.

Mrs. Dana Vinson Southerland directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Mrs. Shannon Ferrell Richardson. Mrs.Carla Hollowell Massengill distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Mr. Jason and Mrs. Jaime Cox.

The reception was immediately following the ceremony at Garris Chapel United Methodist Church. Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Percy Lee Ferrell, Jr.

After a wedding trip to Edisto Beach, S.C., the couple resides in Goldsboro.

The rehearsal dinner, given by the groom’s parents, was held at The Village Steakhouse.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette weekend held in Cherry Grove, S.C., the weekend of March 9-11; a miscellaneous shower March 14, 2012, given by the elementary principals of Wayne County Public Schools at Fremont STARS Elementary School; a bachelor party March 17, 2012, hosted by the groom’s brother; a miscellaneous shower March 18, 2012, given by friends and family of the couple at Garris Chapel United Methodist Church; a miscellaneous shower March 20, 2012, given by the staff of Eastern Wayne Elementary School; and a bridesmaids’ brunch April 7, 2012, held at Lane Tree Country Club and hosted by Mrs. DeAnna Ferrell, Mrs. Ivor Deane Harmon and Mrs. Shannon Ferrell Richardson, family of the bride.
