Watkins - Lacroix
Melissa Kathryn Watkins and Mathieu Lacroix exchanged vows in a civil ceremony in Villeurbanne, France, Feb. 11, 2012, followed by a ceremony in St. Martin Catholic Church, with Father Christian Delorme officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archer Applewhite Watkins and the granddaughter of Mrs. C.D. Lewis and the late Mr. Lewis of Montgomery, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin Watkins of Prattville, Ala.
The groom is the son of Ms. Nadine Massolo and Mr. Henri Lacroix of Villeurbanne, France, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Massolo of Ouillins, France, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claudius Lacroix of Digoin, France.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
Witnesses for the couple were Miss Marine Lacroix, sister of the groom, and Mr. Ludovic Coyat, friend of the groom.
Scripture readers were Miss Naieva Rodot and Miss Patricia Kim.
Romain and Claire Drevet, cousins of the groom, were ringbearers and readers.
Following the ceremony, a dinner dance reception was held at Le Parc des Vallieres.
The couple will reside in Birmingham, Ala.
A blessing of the marriage and reception will be held in Goldsboro in the fall.
