Crowell - Poland
Ellen Susan Crowell and Stuart Justin Poland exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 24, 2011, at 4 p.m. at Fairmont United Methodist Church in Raleigh, with the Rev. Timothy Catlett officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Lowrance Crowell III of Salisbury and the granddaughter of Vanda Crowell and the late Jim Crowell of Salisbury and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gaither Shaw of Sumter, S.C.
A 2004 graduate of West Rowan High School, Ellen received Bachelor of Arts degrees in communication and sociology from North Carolina State University in 2008. She is a doctoral student in audiology at East Carolina University.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brice Sylvester Poland Jr. of Elm City and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Poland of Elm City and Beatrice Johnson, the late George Johnson and the late Rachel Johnson of Goldsboro.
A 2002 graduate of Southern Nash High School, Stuart received a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from North Carolina State University in 2009. He is a graphic designer for Teleflex.
After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Elm City.
