Caroline Elizabeth Adams of Johns Island, S.C., and Stephen John Dees of Johns Island exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Sandals Grande Antigua in St. Johns, Antigua, with Vaughn Walker officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Norman James and Pamela Drum Adams of Hickory and the granddaughter of the late Jesse H. and Lucille M. Adams, Rebecca W. Drum and the late Howard R. Drum of Hickory.

She is a 1996 graduate of Hickory High School and a 2003 honor graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Doctorate of Pharmacy. She is employed as a pediatric clinical pharmacist at Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital in Charleston, S.C.

The groom is the son of John E. Dees Jr. of Palm City, Fla., and Barbara Ann Dees of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; the stepson of Hollis Grayson Earley of Hampstead; and the grandson of the late Dr. John E. Dees and Elizabeth Gautier Dees of Goldsboro, Ann Lorraine Ortzsik of Naples, Fla., and the late Harold Joseph Ortzsik of Miami, Fla.

He is a 1996 graduate Eastern Wayne High School and a 2001 honor graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in chemical engineering and textile chemistry. He is employed as vice president of sales with Dulany Industries/Southern States Chemical in Savannah, Ga., and Wilmington.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a mermaid-cut ivory satin gown.

She wore fresh white orchids in her hair and carried a bouquet of multicolored orchids.

Immediately following the sunset beach ceremony, guests entered the lavish gardens for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by dinner overlooking the elegant Sandals Grande Resort.

The couple continued their honeymoon in Antigua at the Sandals Grande Resort and Spa.

They reside in the Charleston area with plans to move to Savannah in the near future.

Festivities began Friday evening with a welcoming dinner for family and invited guests on the beach.
