Anna Elizabeth Davis of Princeton and Jimmy Leon Tart Jr. of Princeton exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 3 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Glenn Phillips Jr. officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Reginald Allen and Katherine Jones Davis of Pikeville and the granddaughter of James Nick Davis, the late Georgianna Parker Horner, Fredrick Howard and Frances Robbins Frimet and the late James T. Jones of Fayetteville.

The groom is the son of Jimmy Leon and Brenda King Tart of Swansboro and the grandson of the late Alfred Hoover and Callie Elizabeth Godwin Tart of Dunn and the late Ben Everett King and Mary McArthur King of Princeton.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white silk taffeta A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and Alencon lace appliqués on the gathered bodice and scalloped hemline.

Her headpiece was her mother’s veil framed in Alencon lace.

The bride carried a white hand-tied bouquet of English garden roses, dahlias, stock, astilbe and green hypericum berries.

Claire Davis Franklin was her sister’s matron of honor.

Jimmy Leon Tart was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Daniel Edwards, Gregory Davis and David Franklin.

Elsie Hooks directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Laura Jones. Theresa Jones distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Carol Gray, organist and pianist, and Tommy Gibson, Steven Fairchild, Wayne Williams and Harry Wood, vocal quartet.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Goldsboro Country Club. Charles and Denise Jones greeted guests.

After their wedding trip to London, England, and Paris, France, the couple will reside in Princeton.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower and tea hosted June 26 at First Baptist Church hosted by the church; a bridal shower July 26 in Smithfield hosted by Marcia Stewart; a bachelorette weekend in Atlantic Beach hosted by the matron of honor; and a bachelor fishing trip in Swansboro hosted by the groomsmen.

A rehearsal dinner was held at the home of bride’s parents.
