Teala Suzanne Jones and Wilson Matthew Summerlin exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 6 at 3 p.m. at Mount Nelson Missionary Baptist Church in Eureka, with Samuel and Brooks Sumner officiating. Dr. Jack Sauls and the Rev. Tom Penney officiated at the sand ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Harold Desmond and Teala Seay Jones of Eureka and the granddaughter of Felix Eugene and Lillian Head Seay of Kinston and James Harold Jones and the late Norma Brinson Jones of Kinston and the late Shirley Williams Jones of Hookerton.

She is a 2007 graduate of Charles B. Aycock in 2007 and a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree. She is studying nursing.

The groom is the son of Wilson Morris Summerlin II and Miriam Lanier Summerlin of Beulaville and the grandson of Joyce Summerlin Glunt of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the late Wilson Morris Summerlin I and Cecil Glenn and Shirley D. Lanier of Beulaville.

He graduated from East Duplin in 2008, James Sprunt Community College in 2010 with an associate degree and Wayne Community College’s basic law enforcement program in 2010. He is employed as a police officer with Jacksonville Police Department.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by parents and brother.

She wore a fitted gown of white taffeta. The bodice featured a strapless sweetheart neckline and asymmetrical pleating. A sash accented with sequins, crystals and seed pearls adorned the natural waistline tying in a bow along the back of the gown. The sash continued down and asymmetrical pickups decorated the the A-line skirt that flowed into a semi-cathedral train.

Her headpiece was a waist-length veil with crystal trim.

The bride carried a bouquet of aster lilies, yellow canna lilies, blue hydrangeas, lavender and purple Gerber daisies wrapped with satin zebra ribbon that matched her zebra print shoes.

Angel Tyndall of Goldsboro was her friend’s matron of honor, while Chelsea McClintock of Beulaville, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kayla Sauls of Eureka, friend of the bride; Ashley Davis of Richmond, Va., cousin of the bride; and Lindsey Summerlin of Beulaville, sister of the groom.

Wilson Morris Summerlin II was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Ryan Byrd of Beulaville, Eli Lanier and Evan Lanier of Beulaville, cousins of the groom, and Fel Jones of Eureka, brother of the bride.

Madison Stanley of Beulaville, niece of the groom, and Hannah Seay of Kinston, cousin of the bride, were flower girls. Tyler Lanier, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.

Carol Gray of Eureka, friend of the bride’s family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Emily Lanier and Samantha Fountain of Beulaville, friends of the couple. Kelsey Sumner of Beulaville and Jade Creel and Kimber Pender of Eureka, friends of the couple, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Demion Creel of Eureka, friend of the bride, trumpeter; Jean Ham of Snow Hill, friend of the family, pianist; and Barry Jones of Richmond, Va., uncle of the bride, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Heritage Hall at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

After their wedding trip to Palm Beach Shores, Fla., the couple will reside in Beulaville.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower June 12 at Mount Nelson Baptist Church hosted by friends of the bride; a wedding shower July 2 at Beulaville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church hosted by family of the groom; a lingerie shower July 9 at the home of Chelsea McClintock hosted by the matron and maid of honor; a bachelorette party July 29 at the home of Emily Lanier of Greenville, friend of the bride hosted by Miss Lanier; and a bachelor party July 30 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by the groom’s father.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Mount Nelson Baptist Church.
