Kristen Ann Jones of Mount Olive and Benjamin Thomas Hamm of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 30 at 4 p.m. at Oak Ridge Community Building in Mount Olive, with Coy Brock officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Greg and Jaye Koch of Mount Olive, the granddaughter of Gary and Gloria Koch of Orlando, Okla., and Keith and Connie Jones of Mount Olive and the great-granddaughter of Dalton and Evelyn Jones of Mount Olive and the great-granddaughter of Dalton and Evelyn Jones.

She is a 2008 graduate of North Duplin High School and attends James Sprunt Community College for a degree in teaching and basics in speech therapy. She is employed as a teacher at Once Upon A Time Childcare in Mount Olive.

The groom is the son of James Hamm Jr. and Janet Hamm of Goldsboro and the grandson of Nannie Osborne and the late James Hamm of Independence, Va., and the late E.C. and Hilda Hare of Goldsboro.

He is a 2005 graduate of Spring Creek High School. He is employed as a welder at MetalCrafters.

The bride was escorted by her father and great-grandfather and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a gown of ivory silk taffeta. The bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and a panel of re-embroidered Alencon lace accented with clear sequins along the natural waistline. A full pick-up skirt was embellished along the hemline with matching re-embroidered Alencon lace and flowed into a semi-cathedral train. A V-back with covered buttons and sequined details completed the back.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of light blue hydrangeas, miniature white calla lilies and yellow roses.

Kimberly Fariss of Dudley, sister of the groom, was matron of honor, while Elizabeth Lane of Greenville, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Mikayla Koch and Rayanna Koch of Mount Olive, sisters of the bride.

James Hamm Jr. was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Eric Daniels of Goldsboro, friend of the groom, and Jimmy Mitchell of Goldsboro and James Hamm III of Mississippi, brothers of the groom.

Ushers were Brandon Martin of Mount Olive, uncle of the bride, and Dewey Baker of Dudley and Dylan Mitchell of Goldsboro, nephews of the groom.

Meghan Martin of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Ethan Fariss of Dudley, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Hollie Martin of Mount Olive, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Snow Proctor of Grantham, aunt of the bride. Danny Grace Jones and Hannah Martin of Mount Olive, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

Special helpers were Laurie Smith of Goldsboro and Tracie Jones of Mount Olive, aunts of the bride; Emily Malpass of Seven Springs, Mark Hull of Goldsboro and Michelle Smith of Zebulon, friends of the family; Mary Lou Brock of Mount Olive friend of the bride; Debbie Kennedy of Goldsboro, aunt of the groom; and Mr. and Mrs. Geffory Koch of Perry Oklahoma uncle and aunt of the bride.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents and family hosted a dinner and dance reception at Oak Ridge Community building.

After their wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple will reside in Mount Olive.

Events held before the wedding included a gift card/money shower Feb. 26 at the home of the groom’s sister hosted by the groom’s family and a miscellaneous shower April 3 at Oak Ridge Community building hosted by the bride’s family and friends.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner April 29 at Oak Ridge Community building.
