Brittany Joelle Patterson and Roy Hunter Cottle exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 21 at 6 p.m. at River Landing Clubhouse, with Bob Fussell officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Randy and Sharon Patterson of Albertson and the granddaughter of Eloise Patterson and the late Jack Patterson of Albertson and Levy and Joyce Hinson of Mount Olive.

She is a 2005 graduate of East Duplin High School and attends James Sprunt Community College for a degree in criminal justice.

The groom is the son of Carroll Cottle and Mary Helen Cottle of Calypso and the grandson of Will Cottle, the late Peggy Cottle, Adell Baker and the late Rodney Baker of Calypso.

He is a 2004 graduate of North Duplin High School. He is employed at Mount Olive Pickle Plant.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless ivory gown of royal satin with a sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice was accented with a sheer lace overlay embroidered with champagne beading. The chapel length train was sprinkled with Swarvoski crystal beading.

Her headpiece was a fingertip-length veil accented with white feathers.

The bride carried a bouquet of green Fuji mums and purple lizianthus hand-tied in satin ribbon.

Leah Patterson Fife was her sister’s matron of honor, while Caitlin Turner, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sarah Cottle of Mount Olive, sister-in-law of the groom; Danna Rhodes of Kenansville, cousin of the bride; and Cassie Boyne of Elizabethtown, friend of the bride.

Carroll Cottle was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Chris Cottle of Mount Olive, brother of the groom; Blake Patterson of Albertson, brother of the bride; and Joyner King and Robbie Kelly of Calypso, cousins of the groom.

Ushers were Zachary Pridgen of Albertson, cousin of the bride, and Reid Kelly of Calypso, cousin of the groom.

Marakesh Lubbers of Wilmington, cousin of the bride, and Paige Cottle of Mount Olive, niece of the groom, were flower girls. Kolby Hinson of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Rebekah Ivey of Mount Olive directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Sandy Price of Seven Springs, cousin of the bride. Mikayla Price of Seven Springs, cousin of the bride, and Madison Cottle of Mount Olive, niece of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Danna Rhodes of Kenansville, cousin of the bride, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at River Landing Clubhouse in Wallace.

After their wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Albertson.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party Oct. 9 at the home of Randy and Sharon Patterson hosted by family and friends; a monogram shower Dec. 15 at the home of Lori Ingalls in Kinston hosted by Ms. Ingalls and family; a bridal shower Feb. 13 at Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church hosted by family; a honey-do shower and supper was given at the home of Jerle and Gwen Turner in Albertson hosted by the Turner family; a luncheon April 30 at Calypso Presbyterian Church hosted by the groom’s family; a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 7 at the home of Fran Bostic, aunt of the bride, hosted by the bride’s family; a bachelorette weekend May 14 in Wilmington hosted by friends of the bride; and a bachelor’s night May 20 in Wilmington hosted by friends of the groom.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner May 20 at the Country Squire in Kenansville.
