Anna Katherine Harris and Larry Frank Clark Jr. of Southport exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 2 at 4 p.m. at Southport Baptist Chapel, with Dr. Jason Bland officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Richard Eugene and Paula Kenley Harris of Snow Hill and the granddaughter of Christine Puckett Harris and the late Clarence Jefferson Harris, the late Andrew Sampson and Panthea Stewart Kenley of Warrenton.

She graduated as valedictorian from Greene Central High School in 2006 and summa cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. She attends North Carolina State University for a master’s degree in structural engineering and mechanics. She is employed as a research assistant at North Carolina State University.

The groom is the son of Larry Frank Clark and Dolores Camille Clark of Aiken, S.C., and the grandson of Adelle Hodge Clark and the late William Lewis Clark of Aiken.

He graduated with honors from Aiken High School in 2002 and North Carolina State University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed as nuclear systems engineer at Progress Energy Carolinas Brunswick Nuclear Plant in Southport.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory cotton and tulle empire silhouette dress with an English lace bodice and hem, silk ribbon ties and beaded appliques.

Her headpiece was a chapel-length tulle veil

The bride carried pink garden roses, pink peonies and green hydrangeas entwined with grape vine and pink berries

Bridesmaids were Summer Chase, Mary Knox Dickson, Danielle Strickland, Courtney Smith and Stacy Bentley, friends of the bride.

Larry Frank Clark was best man.

Groomsmen were Garrett Clark, brother of groom, and Ryan Henkes, Christopher Sexton, Padowitz Alce and Bryan Sangid, friends of groom.

Ushers were Jay Carroll and Yianne Kritzas.

Aubrey Harris and Alyssa Harris, nieces of bride, were flower girls. Jake Harris, nephew of bride, was ringbearer.

Whitney Sangid directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Candace Sexton. Kelsy Lindsay distributed the programs.

Andy Harris was Scripture reader.

A program of wedding music was provided by Sandy Core, pianist.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance cruise reception was held on the Winner Princess out of Carolina Beach at Southport Marina. Jenique Taylor was emcee.

After their wedding trip to Providenciales in Turks and Caicos Islands, the couple will reside in Southport.

Events held before the wedding included a shower March 19 in Raleigh hosted by Mary Knox Dickson and Courtney Smith, friends of the bride, and a shower May 1 hosted by Sarah Beth Harris and Elizabeth Harris, sisters-in-law of the bride.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Mr. P’s Bistro in Southport.
