Sarah Ann Nickens and Ronald Gray Williams Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 21 at 4 p.m. at Ann Street United Methodist Church in Beaufort, with the Rev. Eric Lindblade officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Larry Cobb and Gail Molic Nickens of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Russell and Bernice Nickens of Goldsboro and Ann Huemann of Greenville.

She graduated from Arendell Parrott Academy in 2004, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 with a major in biology and Duke University in 2011 with a Masters of Divinity degree. She is employed as the director of children’s ministry at Trinity United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.

The groom is the son of Ronald Gray and Phyllis Whitley Williams of Wilmington and the grandson of Erelene Tolston Williams and the late Charles Omer Williams of Battleboro and Addie Carrow Whitley and the late James Woolard Whitley of Jacksonville.

He graduated from Topsail High School in 2006 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2010 with a major in business. He is employed as a captain at Tow Boat U.S. in Beaufort.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a diamond white taffeta wedding dress

She chose a headpiece of pearls and crystals.

The bride carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas and peonies.

Bridesmaids were Courtney Brown, Sara Austin, Meghan Scott and Sarah Blizzard.

Groomsmen were T.J. Dineen, Daryl Austin, Andy Blackmore and Danny James.

Chloe Avon was flower girl. Bobby Foy was ringbearer.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Beaufort Historic Site.

After their wedding trip to Hilton Head Island, S.C., the couple will reside in Beaufort.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party in Goldsboro hosted by Charlie and Sandra Wilkins and Charlie and Hannah Rouse and a shower and a party in Wilmington hosted by friends of the groom’s mother.

The groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall.
