Kasey Lee Powell and Matthew Kyle Ezzell exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 231 at 4 p.m. at Hinnant Family Vineyards in Pine Level, with Dennis Pollock officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Alton Brent and Wanda Jenkins Powell of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Rachel Lambert Powell, the late Alton B. Powell, Lillie Ruth Jenkins and the late Dalton Jenkins of Goldsboro.

She is a 2006 honor graduate of Southern Wayne High School and attends East Carolina University through the Wachovia Partnership East Program for a degree in elementary education. She is employed as an instructional assistant with Wayne County Public Schools.

The groom is the son of Al and Lisa Grice Ezzell of Goldsboro and the grandson of Thelma Ezzell, the late Arnold Ezzell, Donald Grice and the late Barbara Stevens Grice of Goldsboro.

He is a 2006 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He is employed as a lineman with Progress Energy.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a diamond white one-shouldered neckline dress encrusted with a Swarovski crystal accent with satin ruches. The fitted skirt was accented with coordinating crystal detail at the side hip and a sweep train completed the style.

The bride carried a bouquet of white, purple and yellow spider daisies with cascading ivy, stephanotis and pearl filigrees.

Nikki Coty, cousin of the bride, and Kassie Rapp, friend of the bride, were maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Danyle Herring Davis and Kristen Moody, friends of bride, and Ashley Ezzell, sister of the groom.

Al Ezzell was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Jake Lipa and Jason Bingham, friends of the groom, and Timothy Powell, brother of the bride.

Kara Davis, cousin of the bride, and Shelby Holland, cousin of the groom, were flower girls.

Renee Coty, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Emily Taylor, friend of the bride. Jordan Outlaw, cousin of the bride, distributed the programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by W.G. Cash, deejay.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Hinnant Family Vineyards.

After their wedding trip to Disney World and Savannah, Ga., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party May 15 at the home of the bride’s parents; a Pampered Chef shower Oct. 9 at the home of Angie Herring in Goldsboro hosted by Danyle Herring Davis; a Christmas shower Nov. 20 at the home of the brides parents hosted by Amanda and Lyvonne Davis; a bridal shower Feb. 19 at Woodman of the World building in Grantham hosted by the bride’s parents; a lawn and garden shower March 27 at the home of Tonia Holland, aunt of the groom, hosted by the groom’s family; a monogram shower April 3 at the home of Peggy Price in Selma hosted by Ms. Price, Nikki Godwin and Mandy Brown, friends of the bride; a “cash for honeymoon” shower April 7 at Spring Creek Elementary School hosted by co-workers of the bride; a lingerie shower April 8 at Murphy’s hosted by friends of the bride; a bachelorette weekend April 9 and 10 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by friends of the bride; and a bachelor weekend April 9 hosted by friends of the groom.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Murphy’s.
