Stephanie Savannah Sugg and Austen Grant Webber exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 1 at 6 p.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Bill Rose, the Rev. Dann Patrick and the Rev. Charles W. Sugg Sr. officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Charles Wayne Sugg Jr. and Jennifer Buehler Sugg of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Charles Wayne Sugg, Brenda Potter Sugg, Joyce Oblosser Buehler and the late Harold George Buehler of Goldsboro.
She is a 2007 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in arts. She attends East Carolina University for a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education through the Wachovia Partnership East program. She is employed as a teacher’s assistant at Wayne County Public Schools.
The groom is the son of William Grant Webber Jr. and Amy Pate Webber of Goldsboro and the grandson of William “Bill” Grant Webber and Betty Coker Webber of LaGrange and Handley T. and Sarah Smith Pate of Pikeville.
He is a 2008 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and a 2010 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate’s degree. He attend East Carolina University for a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is employed as an estimator at Dixie Coatings Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a silk satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and a dropped waistline. The bodice featured illusion cap sleeves adorned with beaded and embroidered appliqués accented with Swarovski crystals. The ballgown skirt had box bleats and matching beadwork that flowed into a beaded royal train.
Her headpiece was a silver tiara with Swarovski crystals and a double-tiered waist-length veil of ivory illusion edged with crystal embellishments with a two-tiered cathedral-length veil accented with matching Swarovski crystals and embroidery.
The bride carried a bouquet of lighted English white roses with rhinestone accents.
Missy Smiley of Goldsboro, friend of the family, was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Christian Brogneaux, Katie Best and Amie Hill of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.
Bryce Webber was his brother’s best man.
William “Grant” Webber Jr. was his son’s honorable best man.
Groomsmen were Charles “Charlie” Wayne Sugg III, brother of the bride, and Kyle Pate and Drew Floars of Goldsboro, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Will Paley of Chihauhau, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, cousin of the groom; Andrew Jackson of Chesapeake, Va., nephew of the bride; and Terence Davis of Goldsboro, adopted brother of the bride.
Anna Smiley was the miniature bride.
Lee-Ann Keen of Goldsboro, friend of the bride’s family, directed the wedding and reception. Presiding at the register was Amanda Barley, friend of the bride. Leslie Paley of Chihauhau, cousin of the groom, distributed programs and candles for the candlelight ceremony.
Special helpers were Angela Upchurch of Saratoga, cousin of the bride, and Linda Jackson of Chesapeake, aunt of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Hope Porter, pianist, and Hope Potter and Lainey Jacobs of Goldsboro, handbells.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a candlelight dinner and dance at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After their wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding include a miscellaneous shower Oct. 21 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall hosted by the groom’s family and ladies of the church; a bridal brunch Oct. 30 at the home of Bill and Betty Webber hosted by the groom’s aunts; a bridal getaway Nov. 5 and 6 in Stella hosted by Missy Smiley; a bridal shower Nov. 20 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church hosted by Brenda Sugg, Linda Jackson and Angie Upchurch; and a lingerie shower Dec. 4 at Texas Steakhouse hosted by Missy Smiley.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Dec. 30 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall.
