Amanda Barley and Joshua Gregory exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 15 at 3 p.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.

The bride is the daughter of John and Denise Barley of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late James and Christine Barley and the late Simon and Pearl Gurley of Goldsboro.

She is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2005 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in arts. She is employed as a teacher assistant at Eastern Wayne Elementary School.

The groom is the son of Charlie and Sandi Gregory of Fremont and the grandson of the late Sam and Edna Stiffner and Papa Jack Gregory of Goldsboro, Charles and Doris Forehand of Pikeville and Evie and Cliff Harper of Kinston.

He is a 2008 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. He is employed as a route driver with Culligan.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white princess-style strapless floor-length gown with a Basque waistline and chapel-length train. The gown was embroidered with crystal pearls and sequins. A blue sash wrapped across the bodice and flowed down the back.

Her headpiece was a crystal tiara with an elbow-length double-tiered veil.

The bride carried a bouquet of white roses and blue tiger lilies with greenery covered in snow embellished with crystals.

Cassidy Anderson was her cousin’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Hannah Edwards, Nicole Provenzano and Stephanie Webber, friends of the bride.

Charlie Gregory was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Chris Davis, Justin Lewis and Tony Perozeni, friends of the groom.

Natalie Fulghum, friend of the couple, was the flower girl. Tate Anderson, cousin of the groom, was the ringbearer.

Brian Taylor, friend of the couple, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Wendy Mitchell, aunt of the bride. Ryan and Jason Mitchell, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

Special helpers were Lydia Mills, Pam Crutchfield, Bevelry Anderson, Terry Boyette, Teresa Peele, Donna Smith, Mel Jo Blackmon, Misty Deese, Sonya Ginn, Marlene Martin and Robin Aycock.

A program of wedding music was provided by Carolyn Castania, aunt of the groom, pianist; Jeane Anderson, aunt of the groom, and Logan Pate, cousin of the groom, vocalists; and Kent Taylor, friend of the couple, sound technician.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church. Lisa Boyette, friend of the bride, was the director. Lisa Anderson, aunt of the bride, and Patsy Edwards, friend of the bride, served the wedding cake. Christel Mozingo, friend of the couple, poured punch.

After their wedding trip to Boone, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower Oct. 9 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church hosted by family and friends of the couple; a shower Nov. 3 at Eastern Wayne Elementary hosted by kindergarten staff; a shower Nov. 6 at the home of Herb and Beverly Anderson hosted by Mrs. Anderson; and a bachelorette shower Nov. 13 at the home of Hannah Edwards hosted by the Edwards family.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
