Elizabeth Anne Newcomb of Holly Springs and Paul Anthony Hopfer of Holly Springs exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. at Caffe Luna in Raleigh, with Dr. Earl Moore officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Fred Junior and Myrtle Edwards Newcomb of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Jasper and Bessie Newcomb of Goldsboro and the late Fred and Gertrude Edwards of Mount Olive.

She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1999 and North Carolina State University with bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in textile and apparel management. She is employed as assistant professor of fashion merchandising and design at North Carolina A&T State University.

The groom is the son of Richard Cletus Hopfer Jr. and Karen Connolly Hopfer of Bahama and the grandson of the late Richard of Clearfield, Pa., Eva Hopfer of Carthage, N.Y., the late Paul of New Haven, Conn., and Catherine Connolly of Pittsburgh, Pa.

He graduated from Northern High School in 2000 and North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University. He is employed as an engineer at Pentair Water.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory all-over lace trumpet dress with cap sleeves and a keyhole back. It featured a chapel train and beaded sash at the waist.

Her headpiece was a cathedral-length veil and a floral fastener in her hair.

The bride carried a bouquet of ivory spider mums and yellow billy balls.

Katy Lamb was her sister’s matron of honor.

Richard Hopfer III was his brother’s best man.

Ushers were Jimmy Miller and Josh Eudailey, friends of the couple.

Gretchen Hopfer, niece of the groom was flower girl.

Tracy Adams directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Genevieve Garland. Kate Dutton distributed the programs.

Dallin and Parker Hopfer, nephews of the groom passed out bubbles.

A program of wedding music was provided by Arioso Strings, and Josh Lamb, brother-in-law of the bride, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Caffe Luna.

After their wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Holly Springs.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower Sept. 26 hosted by Jimmy and Dana Miller; a cookout and shower Oct. 2 hosted by Richard and Karen Hopfer; a bridal shower Oct. 23 hosted by Myrtle Newcomb and Katy Lamb; a bachelorette party Nov. 5 hosted by Katy Lamb and Dana Miller; and a bachelor party Nov., 19 hosted by Jimmy Miller.

A rehearsal dinner was held Nov. 19 at The Pit in Raleigh.
