Metzler - Richter
Lauren Hagen Richter and Mark Daughtry Metzler exchanged vows in a private family ceremony Sept. 18 at 5:45 p.m. in Bald Head Island, with David Brindle officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Robert John and Debra Riddle Richter of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Martin Bernard Richter, Wilma Richter Southerland and the late Ray and Gertrude Riddle of Goldsboro.
She is a graduate of East Carolina University. She is self-employed as a graphic designer.
The groom is the son of Martin Clive and Jan Daughtry Metzler of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Paul and Gertrude Metzler of New York, N.Y., and James Floyd Daughtry Jr. and Christine Byrd Daughtry of Goldsboro.
He is a graduate of North Carolina State University. He is employed as district executive with the Tuscarora Council, Boy Scouts of America.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Carmen Richter Boros was matron of honor.
Martin Metzler was the best man.
Grace Caroline Boros and Annelise Teal Boros were flower girls.
A program of wedding music was provided by Martha Bennett Metzler and Samuel Daughtry Metzler.
Following the ceremony, the groom’s parents hosted a dinner at Bald Head Island Club.
The bride’s parents held a reception the weekend after the wedding at Goldsborough Bridge Battlefield Barn.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal brunch hosted by Jane Richter and Linda Richter; a bridal shower given by Brooke Bundy; and an engagement party at the home of Jimmy and Betsy Neese.
