Charmaine Ann Isler and Angelo Thompson exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ, with bishop Alton A. Smith, elder Otis C. Isler and pastor Bill Wilson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Charles Thadeus and Annie Marie Isler of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late John Wesley Isler, Esther Harper Isler, Annie Lois Croom and the late James Croom of Goldsboro.

She is a 1998 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2002 graduate of East Carolina University with of bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Clifton Earl Thompson and Wilhelmina Thompson of Goldsboro

He is a 2001 graduate of Winston-Salem State University. He is employed as a physical therapist at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless silk satin white gown with a beaded bodice. The A-line skirt also featured matching beadwork along the hemline and flowed into a semi-cathedral-length train with a French bustle.

Her headpiece was a double-layered elbow-length veil trimmed in satin attached to a rhinestone tiara.

The bride carried a multi-colored bouquet of roses.

Shanta’ Taylor was the maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Heather Liggins, cousin of the bride, Stephanie Reid, friend of the bride; and Philmina Thompson, sister of the groom.

Clifton Earl Thompson Jr. was best man.

Groomsmen were Victor Isler, cousin of the bride, and Danny Powell, friend of the groom.

Angel Cox was flower girl. Michael Barnes was ringbearer.

Letitia Isler directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kimberly Isler, sister-in-law of the bride. Michelle Garon and Rebecca Mooney, friends of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Frank Jones, pianist, and Dante’ Johnson, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Heritage Hall Community Center at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Tomeshia Barnes, friend of the bride, cut the weddng cake.

After their wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower Sept. 22 hosted by co-workers of the bride; a wedding shower Oct. 19 hosted by co-workers of the groom; and a bridal shower Oct. 23 hosted by Stephanie Reid and Shanta’ Taylor.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at St. Mark Church fellowship hall.
