Polack-Johnson
Lekeshia Eureka Johnson and Taj Jamal Polack exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ, with bishop Alton Smith officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Eric P. Johnson of Millsboro, Del., and Ida E. Mumford of Berlin, Md., and the granddaughter of the late Roland and Charlotte Johnson and the late William and Corina Mumford.
She graduated from Goldsboro High School and Mitchell’s Hair Academy with a cosmetology license. She is owner of Hair Haven Beauty Salon.
The groom is the son of Patricia E. Polack and the late Antonio V. Polack of New York City and the grandson of the late Helen V. Howell, George Aldridge, the late Flora Crawley and Antonio V. Polack of New York City.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School and Johnston Community College with a firefighter certification. He attended North Carolina Central University. He is employed as a firefighter with Goldsboro Fire Department.
The bride was given in marriage by her son, Dyquon M. Johnson.
She wore a white long-sleeved satin taffeta ballgown with lace and beading with a royal-length train.
Her headpiece was a braided floral pearl elbow-length veil.
The bride carried a bouquet of pink and white roses and lilies.
A program of wedding music was provided by Roger Walker.
A reception was held Oct. 2 at the home of the couple.
After their wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a meet-and-greet at the home of the groom’s mother hosted by Peggy Ward, Ellen Smith, Gloria Jones, Carol Wooten and Erika Hamilton.
