Kara Elizabeth Worthington and Nikitas Lee Panagopoulos exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta, with the Rev. Bob Tyler officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Clifton Worthington of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Betty Park Adams and the late Charles T. Adams of Richmond, Ky.

She graduated from Wayne Country Day School and cum laude from Duke University. She is employed with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Atlanta as a financial advisor.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christos Panagopoulos of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

He graduated from Hamilton High School and Bulawayo Technical College in Zimbabwe. He is employed as a restaurateur in Atlanta.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Natalia Panagopoulos and Dimitri Panagopoulos, children of the groom, were attendants.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rhodes Hall in Atlanta.

After their wedding trip to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, the couple will reside in Atlanta.

Events held before the wedding included a shower at Hotel InterContinental Buckhead in Atlanta hosted by Kim Lowthers and Christi Clark; a shower at Swan Coach House in Atlanta hosted by Dr. Anne Allen, Heather Henn and Rose Miller; a shower at Aria in Atlanta hosted by Michele Oberst; and a spa weekend at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga., hosted by Paula Comeau.

The groom hosted a rehearsal dinner Aug. 20 in Atlanta.
