Brittney Elizabeth Davis of Goldsboro and Andrew Clarck Brown of Rose Hill exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. at Grand Strand Resorts at Barefoot in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., with Dr. Norwood Tadlock, cousin of the bride, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Shell and Susan Thorn Davis of Rosewood and the granddaughter of the late Jimmy “Shorty” Davis of Dudley and Rose Blackburn Davis and the late Michael Anthony Thorn of Goldsboro.

She graduated from Rosewood High School in 2007 and attends Wayne Community College, where she is pursuing a degree in dental assisting.

The groom is the son of Helen Denise Westbrook of Albertson and the late Clarence Brown Jr. of Rose Hill, the stepson of Anthony Westbrook and the grandson of Clarence Brown and Virginia Brown of Rose Hill and Leonard and Catherine Byrd of Beulaville.

He graduated from East Duplin High School in 2005. He is employed as assistant general manager of Holiday Inn of Warsaw.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents and brother, Joshua Davis.

She wore an ivory A-line gown with a strapless fitted bodice embellished with sequins and pearls. The gown had a dropped waistline enhanced with a champagne satin pleated sash leading to a full cathedral-length train with her grandmother’s broach attached.

The bride carried a silk bouquet of blue and green hydrangeas with a silk ribbon and pearls.

Kristen Brooke Lynn was her friend’s maid of honor.

Aaron Brown was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Bradley Bradshaw, friend of the groom, and Joshua Davis, brother-in-law of the groom and brother of the bride.

Julie Brown, sister-in-law of the bride, was the honorary bridesmaid.

McKenna Bailey was flower girl. Matthew Oblander was ringbearer and carried a handmade pillow made from the bride’s late PaPaw’s handkerchiefs.

Leeanne Horton directed the wedding.

Chris and Heather Bailey, friends of the couple, were special helpers.

A program of wedding music was provided by Mark McKinney, disc jockey.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Barefoot Landing Convention Center.

After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, the couple will reside in Rose Hill.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous bridal shower June 12 at the home of the bride’s parents hosted by Kristen Lynn and a couple’s bridal shower July 10 at Albertson Baptist Church hosted by the groom’s family and friends.

The groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at California Dreaming in Myrtle Beach. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
