Bizzell-Vaughn
Terasina Patrice Vaughn Hayes and Christopher Lamont Bizzell exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, with bishop Alton A. Smith officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Major E. and Thomasine Cowan Jr. of Goldsboro and Linwood Vaughn of Washington, D.C., the granddaughter of Robert and Carolyn McCoy, the late Thomas Campbell, Mary B. Cowan and the late James and Carlean Vaughn and the great-granddaughter of Daisy C. Coley and the late James Coley.
She graduated from Goldsboro High School and she attended Wayne Community College. She is employed as a phlebot-omist at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and is also owner/operator of I Do Wedding Gowns and Planning.
The groom is the son of Bobby and Margaret B. Greenfield and Rufus and Loretta Davis of Kennesaw, Ga., and the grandson of Sadie Davis and the late Rufus Davis of Dudley, the late John and Helen Bizzell of Mount Olive and Mary Ann Greenfield and the late Chester Greenfield of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Goldsboro High School and attends Grantham University, where he is pursuing a degree in criminal justice and business management. He served in the United States Army. He is employed as a customer service manager with Schwann’s.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a satin candlelight ivory gown with embroidery on the strapless bodice edged with crystals at the neckline with a dropped waistline. The A-line skirt was edged with beading and embroidery that continued onto the cathedral-length train.
Her headpiece was a rhinestone and crystal tiara with an attached four-tiered shoulder-length veil accented with rhinestones and crystals.
The bride carried a bouquet of ivory and chocolate calla lilies and roses accented with pearls and teardrop crystals.
Antoinette C. Francis of Raleigh was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Melody Vaughn of Raleigh and Takiyah Mozingo of Goldsboro, cousins of the bride.
Tierre Hamilton of Jonesboro, Ark., was the best man.
Groomsmen were Coy Coley of Wilmington, friend of the groom; Linwood D. Vaughn of Washington, D.C., brother of the bride; and Monterius Vaughn, son of the bride.
Mia Hayes, daughter of the bride, and Kristen Bizzell, daughter of the groom, were junior bridesmaids. Janson Hayes, son of the bride, was the junior groomsman.
Azion Elliott, daughter of the bride, was the miniature bride.
Saniyah Mozingo, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Sydney Mozingo, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Tavoris Vaughn and Lashonda Wooten of Upper Marlboro, Md., cousins of the bride, directed the wedding and reception. Leeza Bizzell of Elmont, N.Y., cousin of the groom, distributed the programs.
Hostesses were Brenda G. Coley of Goldsboro, aunt of the groom; Leeza Bizzell of Elmont, cousin of the groom; and Veronica Cary of Greenville and Alondra Coley of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jerome Cameron of Fredericksburg, Va., cousin of the bride, Toni Mozingo of Goldsboro, aunt of the bride, and Sha’Tay Holliday of Greenville, friend of the bride, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Dil-lard/Goldsboro Alumni building. Alondra M. Coley, friend of the bride, was mistress of ceremonies. Tavoris Vaughn, cousin of the bride, cut the wedding cake.
Out-of-town guests were from Raleigh, Cary, Greenville, Winston-Salem, Fayetteville, Charlotte, Greensboro; Fredericksburg and Richmond, Va.; Jonesboro, Ark.; Washington, D.C.; Baltimore, Ft. Washington, Bowie, Upper Marlboro, Cheltenham, Temple Hill and Waldorf, Md.; Atlanta, Ga.; and Elmont, N.Y.
After their wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a surprise gift card shower Aug., 21 at Kingdom Faith Ministries hosted by the bride’s mother and attendants; an all-white affair Sept. 10 hosted by the bride’s parents; and a night out hosted by the groom’s attendants and friends.
The groom’s parents hosted a pre-rehearsal dinner Sept. 10 at Goldsboro Chapel Church fellowship hall hosted by Margaret Greenfield and Brenda G. Coley.
