Parchman - Davenport
Emily Anne Davenport and Robert Adam Parchman of Burnsville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. at Tanglewood Church of God in Kinston, with the Rev. Allen Stocks officiating.
The bride is the daughter of William Hoyt Davenport Jr. and Patricia Sinclair Davenport of Kinston, the granddaughter of the late William Hoyt Davenport Sr. and Dorothy Taylor Davenport of Kinston, Billy Lafayette and Ruth Sinclair of Southaven, Miss., and Marie Bootle Smith of Cove City and the stepgranddaughter of Clarice Pollock Davenport of Kinston.
She is a 2006 graduate of North Lenoir High School and a 2010 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Engineering with a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering and management.
The groom is the son of Robert Alan and Charlotte Collins Parchman of Pikeville and the grandson of the late Kenneth Leslie and June Siptak Parchman of Pikeville and Helen Warrick Collins and the late Hoover Collins of Goldsboro.
He is a 2005 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2009 magna cum laude graduate of North Carolina State University’s College of Design with a Bachelor of Industrial Design degree. He is employed as an industrial designer at Altec Inc. in Burnsville.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless white taffeta pick-up gown with a beaded metallic lace bodice and an inverted V-empire and lace-up back.
Her headpiece was a headband covered with rhinestones with a center flower embellished with an attached Russian tulle blusher accented with sprays of feathers.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of red, white, and pink Gerbera daisies accented with white calla lilies.
Kristen Taylor Davenport of Kinston was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Emily Caitlyn Brown and Amanda Kay Scarborough of Kinston and Heather Grace Causey of Grifton.
Robert Alan Parchman was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Floydie Ray Harris Jr. of Goldsboro, Cory James Taylor of Burnsville and Michael Eugene Wade of Pikeville.
Vickie Howell directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Charity Leigh Rhodes. Jennifer Nicole Hawkins of Greenville and Jessica Lauren Hawkins of Cove City distributed the programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Phil Huffman, pianist and vocalist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Falling Creek Country Club. Bill and Carol Thompson of Charlotte, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Teresa Rickert of Garner served cake. Debbie Hawkins, Michelle Moore and Johnnie Hawkins, aunts of the bride, were directors.
After their wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Burnsville.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party July 9 at the home of the bride’s parents hosted by her parents; a bridal shower July 10 at Salem Hall in Goldsboro hosted by Darlene Thigpen and Joyce White, aunts of the groom; a Pampered Chef party July 24 at the Moore home in New Bern hosted by Debbie Hawkins, Michelle Moore and Johnnie Hawkins, aunts of the bride; a bachelorette weekend Aug. 6-8 hosted by Emily Brown, Mandy Scarborough, Heather Causey, Leigh Rhodes and Kristen Davenport; a fishing trip/cookout Aug. 14 hosted by Robert Parchman; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon Aug. 21 at the Picnic Basket in Kinston hosted by Wanda Scarborough and Mandy Scarborough.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Neusiok Club in Kinston.
