ROCKY MOUNT — Anna Margaret Heck and Daniel York Roberts of Rocky Mount exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at The Imperial Center, with pastor Mark Eby officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Charles W. Heck Jr. and Debra Sugg Walston of Rocky Mount and the granddaughter of the late Charles W. Heck Sr. and the late Ernestine Holland Heck of Rocky Mount and the late Stuart W. Sugg and the late Margaret Thomas Sugg of Ayden.

She is a graduate of Pitt Community College with an associate degree in graphic design. She attend Barton College for a degree in art education.

The groom is the son of Toby and Diane Hill Roberts of Goldsboro and the grandson of Myde Wells Roberts, the late Allison Roberts and Giles Hill of Goldsboro; and the late Bonnie Hill Strother of Raleigh.

He graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed as a quality assurance controller at Kirby Engine Systems.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Kathryn Heck Leonard was her sister’s matron of honor.

Amanda Ames Hedgepeth, friend of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

Alan Burch of Charleston, S.C., was his cousin’s best man.

Edward Cogdell of Wilmington, friend of the groom, was the groomsman.

Ushers were Holland Heck of Rocky Mount, brother of the bride, and Marshall Leonard of Rocky Mount, brother-in-law of the bride.

Haley Baskett of Franklin, Tenn., and Emma Northan of Charlotte, cousins of the groom, were flower girls.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Imperial Center.

After their wedding trip to Aruba, the couple will reside in Rocky Mount.

Events held before the wedding included a dinner shower at Chico’s in Rocky Mount hosted by Carol and Charles Lucas of Houston, aunt and uncle of the bride, and a bridesmaids’ party at the home of Kathryn Heck Leonard hosted by Ms. Leonard and Amanda Ames Hedgepeth.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Doubletree Hotel in Rocky Mount.
