DUDLEY — Heather Diane Dills of Dudley and Steven Wayne Lilly of Mount Olive exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 19 at 4 p.m. at Mays Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, with Jeff Daughtry officiating.

The bride is the daughter of James and Barbara Dills of Dudley and the granddaughter of the late Lester Summerlin and Pearle Summerlin Hill of Mount Olive and the late Wendell Hill.

She is a 1997 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2001 graduate of Central Carolina Community College as a registered veterinary technician. She is employed as a receptionist at Mount Olive Family Medicine Center.

The groom is the son of Douglas and Irene Lilly of Dudley and the grandson of the late Carlos and Emma Lilly of Dudley and the late Aaron and Clara Baldwin of Mount Hope, W. Va.

He is a 1993 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He is employed as a quality control at AAR.

The bride was escorted by her father and sons, Andrew and Jordan, and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless ivory satin ballgown with a beaded bodice. The pick-up-style gown was accented by silver, pearls and crystals, and the chapel train was worn in a French bustle at the reception.

Her headpiece was a silver tiara.

The bride carried ivory antique roses, burgundy cabbage roses, peonies and calla lilies.

Kristy Mason was matron of honor, while Megan Connolly was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Mandy Petree, Jenny Hartman and Amanda Dillard.

Douglas Lilly was the best man.

Groomsmen were Derik Jarman, Rick Dills, Wesley Dills and Eric Powell.

Haley Newell was the junior bridesmaid.

Heather and Stephanie Ives were flower girls. Andrew Flora was the ringbearer.

Edythe Blanton directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Wendy Johnson. Hannah Angel and Logan Mason distributed programs.

Special helpers were Ann Sullivan, Marsha Odom, Shirley Hughes, Mary Ward, Karen Morgan, Virginia Outlaw, Gene Pope, Allison Malin, Amy Hazelwood, Nancy Lilly, Connie Meador, Dominic Goings, Dominique Sullivan, Amy Witherington, Carolyn Kirkland, Wanda Daughtry, Joyce Jenkins, Joyce Coates, Savannah Morgan and Madelyn Coates.

A program of wedding music was provided by Melissa Coutts, pianist; and Alden Pridgen and Bruce Powell, vocalists; and Trevor Morgan, sound technician.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a reception in the church’s Nellie Outlaw Family Life Center.

After their wedding cruise to Key West and Cozumel, the couple will reside in Dudley.

Events held before the wedding included a brunch bridal shower May 1 at the home of Kristy Mason hosted by the groom’s family; a bachelorette/lingerie weekend May 15 and 16 in Sneads Ferry hosted by the bride’s mother; a dinner at Southern Exposure Restaurant May 25 hosted by co-workers of the bride; a bridal shower June 6 at Mays Chapel Church hosted by the Circle of Light; and a bridesmaids’ breakfast June 19 at the home of the bride hosted by Megan Connolly and Mary Ward.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the church.
