Peggy Holland and James Bedford of Rosewood exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church’s Braswell Hall, with Vernon Braswell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of the late Richard and Hilda Kirby.
She retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital in 2009.
The groom is the son of the late Johnnie and Lomie Bedford.
He retired from Marmac Barber Shop in 2006.
The bride was escorted by her grandsons, Collin Pendergraph and Will West.
She wore an ivory wedding dress with chiffon and taffeta. Crystals adorned the waistline.
Her headpiece was made with crystals and pearls.
The bride carried a hand-held bouquet of long-stemmed ivory roses tied with ribbon.
Taylor Forest was her grandmother’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Wendy West and Cindy Pendergraph, daughters of the bride; Summer West and Caroline Pendergraph, granddaughters of the bride; Gina Bedford, daughter of the groom; and Debra Bedford, daughter-in-law of the groom.
Jamie Bedford was his father’s best man.
Groomsmen were Chris Pendergraph, son-in-law of the bride, and Tyson Bedford, grandson of the groom.
Hayley Bedford, granddaughter of the groom, was flower girl.
Phyllis Candler, Janet Bridgers and Katie Clarkson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Alison Gipson.
A program of wedding music was provided by Scott Little and Angie Brogden, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in Braswell Hall.
After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Rosewood.
Events held before the wedding included a family dinner at the home of the groom; a party May 14 at Rosewood First Baptist Church’s Braswell Hall hosted by the Gleaner’s Sunday school class; and a party June 16 at Rosewood Church hosted by the choir.
A rehearsal dinner was held June 17 at the home of the groom. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
