Kimberly Kaitlyn Floars of Goldsboro and Jonathon Edward Johnson exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 18 at 6 p.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dann Patrick and the Rev. Christian Powell officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Anthony Drew and Kimberly Sue Floars of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Sue Floars and the late Jackie Floars of Goldsboro and Billy and Sue Morris of Clarksville, Tenn.

She graduated from Faith Christian Academy in 2009, and will attend Wayne Community College for an associate degree in nursing.

The groom is the son of Glen Edward and Lorri Ann Johnson of Midlothian, Va., the grandson of the late Carl Johnson of Indiana and Dodi Johnson and David and Lorretta Scarborough of Union Mills, Ind., and the stepgrandson of Sue Johnson of Arkansas.

He graduated from Johnson High in Virginia in 2005 and Southeastern Free Will Baptist Bible College in Wendell in 2010 with degrees in business and religious arts. He is employed as a salesman with Deacon Jones Kia.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a one-piece

A-line gown with a zipper over the inner corset with button/loop accent. The alabaster shimmer satin gown was caught-up at various points in the skirt and featured beaded embellishments with Swarovski crystals. Alternating diagonal pleats accented the bodice and fitted hip area. It had a cathedral train.

Her headpiece was a cathedral-length veil.

The bride carried a cascade bouquet of dark purple calla lilies and Virginia roses.

Kellie Floars was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Rachel Floars, cousin of the bride; Elizabeth and Hannah Johnson, sisters of the groom; and Brook Anderson, Jennifer Christopher, Haley Oakley, Frances Rawlinson and Rebecca Smith, friends of the bride.

Glen Johnson was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Nathan Johnson, brother of the groom; Drew and Dillon Floars, brothers of the bride; and Jared Carnell, Zach Gaynor, Eric Lehman, Tim Verra and Corey Wormington, friends of the groom.

Adrien Floars and Caroline Morris, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Tommy Underwood, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.

Sue Floars and Sim Johnson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Marissa Morris, cousin of the bride. Kayla Garrett, cousin of the bride, distributed the programs.

Timmy Underwood was the bell ringer.

A program of wedding music was provided by Susan Denton, pianist, and Micah Conlon and Mr. and Mrs. Christian Powell, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held in the church reception hall.

After their wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower in December hosted by the Floars family; a wedding shower hosted by Good News Free Will Baptist Church of Chesterfield, Va.; and a wedding shower hosted by Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro.

A backyard barbecue rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
