CLAYTON — Lauren Ashton Stribble and Gary Wayne Young exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wagner House, with the Rev. Ralph Parker officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Johnny and Dawn Stribble of Mount Olive and Jana Stribble of Saluda, S.C., and the granddaughter of Nadine Richardson and the late Johnny and Betty Stribble.

She graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2004 and Wayne Community College with an associate degree in dental hygiene.

The groom is the son of Duke and Pennie Young of Grantham and the grandson of the late Vernon and Maggie Young and Esther Edwards and the Luby Edwards of Goldsboro.

He graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 994. He is employed by R.A. Jeffreys.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white strapless A-line gown covered with lace, crystals and beads with a silver pendant on the left side filled with crystals.

The bride carried a bouquet of roses, Gerber daisies and hydrangeas.

C.C. Stribble was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Wendy Lane, sister of the groom, and Christy Hamilton and Jennifer Smith, friends of the bride.

Duke Young was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Arab Lane, brother-in-law of the groom, and Jerry Hamilton, Josh Kiser and Devin Chase, all friends of the groom.

Courtney Young, daughter of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid.

Regan Stribble, sister of the bride, was flower girl.

Lauren Crawford directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Maria Pennington.

A program of wedding music was provided by Mike Graham.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at the Wagner House.

After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Grantham.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower May 15 hosted by Dawn Stribble, Lauren Crawford, Martha King and Pennie Young; a wedding cookout June 5 hosted by Duke and Pennie Young; and a bridal luncheon June 26 hosted by Dawn Stribble and Lauren Crawford.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at McCall’s in Clayton.
