Brittany Lauren Ham of LaGrange and Michael Kevin Acree Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 12 at 6 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents, with the Rev. Paul Lee, the Rev. James Williams and the Rev. Todd Kreuger officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jay and Ann Ham of LaGrange and the granddaughter of Howard and Janice Ham of LaGrange and the late Shelby Allegood of Goldsboro.

She is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. She is employed a an account coordinator with Evolve Inc. in Greenville.

The groom is the son of Mike and Cyndi Acree of Goldsboro and the grandson of Betty Acree, the late John O. Acree, Grove Owens and the late Betty Owens of Goldsboro.

He is a 2002 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2008 graduate of Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business management. He is employed as a chargeback specialist at BB&T corporate office in Wilson.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an antique silk satin gown with a deep sweetheart neckline. The Alencon and organza lace adorning the bodice and hemline of the chapel train were complimented by a set-in satin sash at the waist and lace accents along the body of the A-line gown.

Her headpiece was a fingertip-length veil of antique Alencon lace that was worn by her mother on her wedding day.

The bride carried a bouquet of garden roses, Gerber daisies, tulips, ranunculus, green hypericum berries, calla lilies and a green orchid.

Erin Acree, sister of the groom, and Amanda Hamm, cousin of the bride, were maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sarah Powers, Caitlin Turner and Heather Webster, friends of the couple.

Mike Acree was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Kyle Ham, brother of the bride, and Charles Gaylor IV, Tim Insley and Chris Webster, friends of the couple.

Ushers were Tyler Kornegay, Trey Carraway and Aaron Hamm, cousins of the bride, and Nick Barrow, Taylor Ginn, Scott Ginn, Chad Ginn and Dave Krochta, friends of the couple.

Lily Donoway, friend of the couple, was flower girl. Drew Cox, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Sassy, the couple’s Jack Russell terrier, was the miniature bride. Brett Cox, cousin of the bride, was the miniature bride escort.

Brenda Carraway, great-aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Lindsay Kaderly, friend of the couple. Kasey Turnage and Ally Turnage, friends of the couple, distributed the programs.

Special helpers were Julia Carraway and Kendall Carraway, cousins of the bride.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jenny Heim and Linda Taylor, violinists, and Jay Kornegay Jr., cousin of the bride, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a tent reception was held. Katie Barrow and Dena Turnage, friends of the couple, greeted guests. Lisa Owens, cousin of the groom, and fiancé Phillip Callicutt, presided at the gift table. Paula Beaman and Stefanie Cox, cousins of the bride, served the wedding cake.

After their wedding trip to the Mediterranean, the couple will reside in LaGrange.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party Nov. 21 at the Village Steakhouse hosted by the bride’s parents; a Christmas and recipe shower Dec. 13 at the home of Terri Kornegay hosted by Ms. Kornegay and Gena Hamm, aunts of the bride, Amanda Hamm, cousin of the bride, and Janice Ham, grandmother of the bride; a gift card shower March 28 at Bethel United Methodist Church hosted by the Young Adults for Christ and Adults for Christ Sunday school classes; a bridal shower April 11 at Bethel Church hosted by family and friends; a bridal shower April 25 at New Hope United Methodist Church hosted by family and friends; a bridal bonfire May 8 at the home of the bride’s parents hosted by Erin Acree, sister of the groom, and Sarah Powers, friend of the bride; a dinner party May 16 at Woodland United Methodist Church hosted by Jerle, Gwen and Caitlin Turner, friends of the couple; a bachelor weekend May 21-24 in Las Vegas, Nev., hosted by the groomsmen and friends; a lingerie shower May 22 at the home of Heather Webster hosted by Ms. Webster; a bachelorette weekend May 28-31 in Charleston, S.C., hosted by the bridal party and friends; and a bridal luncheon June 6 at Lane Tree Country Club hosted by Regina Barrow, Retha Jo Ginn and Janice Parks, friends of the family.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner June 11 at a restored historic church on the bride’s family farm.
