Roxie Ann Phillips and Joshua David Jackson exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 8 at 6 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, with pastor Billy Olsen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mickey and Karen Phillips of Goldsboro, the granddaughter of Bobby and Jean Phillips and Geneva Michalek of Princeton and the great-granddaughter of Tom Holloman and the late Lee Holloman.

She is a graduate of Rosewood High School, Wayne Community College with a certified CNA and Wilson Community College as a certified phlebotomist. She is employed as a health care technician at Cherry Hospital.

The groom is the son of David and Jeannie Jackson of Goldsboro and the grandson of Bill and Janie Jackson of Goldsboro and Rock and Jean Lassiter of Princeton.

He is a graduate of Rosewood High School. He is employed as a maintenance technician with the Grounds at County of Wayne, Facility Services.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a fitted strapless gown with beading.

The bride carried a bouquet of white roses, white lilies and pink and orange Gerber daisies.

Heather Sasser, sister of the groom, was matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Christie Phillips, Jenna Phillips and Melissa Phillips, cousins of the bride, and Ashley Fields, friend of the couple.

David Jackson was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Drew Farmer, friend; Jason Sasser, brother-in-law of the groom; Jamie Phillips, cousin of the bride; and Jay Phillips, brother of the bride.

Madison Honn, cousin of the groom, was flower girl.

Joanne Honn and Joy Overman, aunts of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was James Cox, friend of the groom. Johnny Ray Phillips, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

Nicholas Phillips, brother of the bride, and Robbie Creech, cousin of the bride, distributed bubbles. Heather Sasser, sister of the groom, and Hunter Sasser, nephew of the groom, distributed candy favors.

A program of wedding music was provided by Timmy Price, pianist, and Tara Boyette and Jeff Lane, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance reception at Lane Tree Country Club. Carol Michalek, aunt of the bride, and Brittani Armstrong, cousin of the bride, cut the wedding cake. Jed Honn and Chris Overman, uncles of the groom, greeted guests.

After their wedding trip to Grand Cayman, Isla Roatan, Belie and Cozumel, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a Christmas Shower Jan. 13 at the home of Joy Overman hosted by Ms. Overman and Joanne Honn, aunts of the groom; a Pampered Chef shower Feb. 7 at Rosewood Fire Department hosted by Heather Sasser, sister of the groom; a household shower March 8 at the home of Jeri Rae Phillips, cousin of the bride, hosted by Ms. Phillips and Christie Phillips, cousin of the bride, and Lori Phillips, aunt of the bride; a pantry and garden shower April 10 at the home of Joy and Chris Overman hosted by the Overmans and Jed and Joanne Honn, aunts and uncles of the groom, Jason and Heather Sasser, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, and the groom’s parents; and a household shower April 11 at Pine Forest United Methodist Church hosted by New Horizons Sunday school class.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Pine Forest United Methodist Church.
