ATLANTIC BEACH — Jessica Kristen Davis of Raleigh and Ronald Gray Sloan Jr. of Mount Olive exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 24 at 5 p.m. at Coral Bay Club, with the Rev. Dennis Goodwin officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Hal Davis and Wanda Davis of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Nellie Ayers Davis, the late George Halbert Davis, Janice Patrick Stillman and the late John Raymond Stillman of Roper.

She graduated from Wayne Christian School and East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She is employed as a research scientist at Talecris Biotherapeutics in Raleigh.

The groom is the son of Ronald Gray Sloan and Nealy Pope Lambert of Mount Olive and the grandson of Davis Alphin Sloan and the late Thelma Jones Sloan of Calypso, Emmett Judson Pope of Morehead City and Cornelia “Connie” Williams Edwards of Mount Olive.

He is a graduate of Wayne Country Day School and Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business management. He is employed as an image specialist at E.J. Pope and Son.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.

She wore a trumpet-style draped taffeta gown with a button back.

Her headpiece was a fingertip veil.

The bride carried a handtied bouquet of white roses, miniature callas and blue hydrangeas.

Bridesmaids were Lauren Cozart, Lauren Roberts and Jennifer Smith.

Ronnie Sloan was the best man.

Groomsmen were T.K. Franklin, Jim Lambert, Greyson Morgan and Judson Pope.

Matthew Davis, brother of the bride, was the usher.

Abbey Pope and Margaux Pope were junior bridesmaids.

Jane Allen directed the wedding.

Logan Dawson was the greeter.

A program of wedding music was provided by Sandy Stillman-Alvin, aunt of the bride, vocalist, and J.D. Joyner, guitarist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Coral Bay Club.

After their wedding trip to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, the couple will resides in Raleigh.

Events held before the wedding included a meet-and-greet shower Feb. 13 hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Carson of Snow Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Roberts of Asheville and Ms. Jennifer Smith of Charlotte; a dinner party March 20 at Southern Wayne Country Club hosted by friends of the groom’s family; a dinner party April 11 at Murphy’s Place hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Sloan and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rogers; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon April 23 at Dunes Club in Atlantic Beach hosted by Mrs. Stu Pope.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Bistro By the Sea in Morehead City.
