WILSON — Lisa Dawn Dawson Stewart of Wilson and Eugene Mock McElwee of Wilson exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, with Dan Jones officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Richard P. Dawson Jr. and Linda Carol Smith Dawson of Kinston and the granddaughter of Sue H. Smith of Kinston.

She graduated from East Carolina University with a master’s degree in library science. She is employed at Greenwood Middle School as the media coordinator.

The groom is the son of the late Eugene P. McElwee and Maureen M. McElwee of Washington, D.C.

He graduated from Montgomery College in Rockville, Md., with an Associate of Arts degree in television production/broadcast journalism. He is employed in inside sales at Centurylink.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white satin wedding dress with gathers to the side with a trail and fur cape closed with crystalline broach. She also wore crystal snowdrop earrings and a necklace.

Her headpiece was beaded.

The bride carried a red rose bouquet tied with white satin ribbon.

Sarah Robinson was maid of honor.

Bernard J. Baxter was best man.

Connie Rouse and Marie Edmundson directed the wedding.

A program of wedding music was provided by Laurence Bradley, guitarist; Blythe Evans, pianist; and Ryan Spell, trumpeter.

Following the ceremony, a luncheon reception was held at MaMa Mia’s Restaurant in Wilson.

After their wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Wilson.

The bride’s family hosted a reception celebration Jan. at First United Methodist Church parlor.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal luncheon Dec. 22 at Wagner House in Clayton hosted by Linda D. Edmundson, sister of the bride.

The couple’s families hosted a rehearsal dinner at Cracker Barrel Dec. 23.
