Dearie-Fisher
WILMINGTON — Lindsay Alicia Fisher of Wilmington and David Brendan Dearie of Wilmington exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert J. Kus officiating.
The bride is the daughter of George Wendell Fisher III and Sandra Warren Fisher of Kinston and the granddaughter of the late George Wendell Fisher Jr., Ann Solimano Fisher and George Marvin and Addie Rutherford Warren of Goldsboro.
She is a 2002 graduate of South Lenoir High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree. She is employed as a pharmacist with CVS Pharmacy in Wilmington.
The groom is the son of David Bernard and Terri Winter Dearie of Wilmington and the grandson of Captain Cyril Dearie and the late Doris Vollenweider Dearie of Metairie, La., and Shirley Winter and the late Bernard Russell Winter of Charleston, S.C.
He is a 2003 graduate of John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington and a 2006 magna cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in biology. He attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy for a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a V-neck halter charmeuse dress with a ruched surplice bodice and a beaded embroidered dropped waist. It featured a godet chapel train adorned with beaded and embroidered appliqués.
Her headpiece was a fingertip-length two-tiered veil with a beaded scallop edge, beaded flowers and sequins.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of red and cream roses tied with ivory satin ribbon and pearl studs. Entwined in her bouquet was a rosary blessed by Pope John Paul II given to the bride by her grandmother, the late Mrs. George W. Fisher Jr.
Jennifer Fisher McLawhorn of Deep Run was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kira Brice of Matthews, Stacie Davenport of Deep Run, Lauren Melton of Greenville and Sara Smith of High Point, friends of the bride, and Anna Dearie of Wilmington, sister of the groom.
David Bernard Dearie was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Benjamin Busian of Rockville, Md., Jason Ezzell of Ballwin, Mo., Lewis Hobbs and Darren Prevatte of Wilmington and Matthew Lopatka of Durham, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Kyle Abode, Bryan Barkley, Ryan Curran and Craig Garrison of Wilmington, friends of the groom, and Bailey Winter of Charleston, cousin of the groom.
Anna George McLawhorn of Deep Run NC, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Ethan Troy McLawhorn of Deep Run, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Lora Prevatte of Wilmington and Hillary Thomas of Raleigh.
Readers fore the ceremony were Kyle Dombach of Greenville and Lora Prevatte and Bryan Porter of Wilmington.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sara Bryant of Wilmington, organist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Hilton Riverside in Wilmington.
The couple will take a wedding cruise to the eastern Caribbean in December. They will reside in Wilmington.
Events held before the wedding included a bachelor’s weekend in July in Las Vegas, Nev.; a Pampered Chef shower Aug. 1 at the home of Nancy Wells, friend of the groom, in Wilmington hosted Ms. Wells; an around-the-clock shower Aug. 15 at the home of Jennifer McLawhorn of Deep Run hosted by Ms. McLawhorn; a bachelorette weekend in September in Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a ladies’ luncheon Oct. 3 at The Folded Napkin Bistro and Catering in Kinston hosted by Addie Warren, grandmother of the bride, and Diane Mozingo, friend of the bride.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Oct. 9 at St. Thomas Preservation Hall in Wilmington.
