Holly Ann Pfeiffer and Kevin Douglas Donovan exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 8 at 4 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, with Joseph Franklin and Billy Olsen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Timothy Allen and Patricia Ann Pfeiffer of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Lois J. Pfeiffer of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, the late Henry F. Pfeiffer of Kenton, Ohio, and Agnes C. Mennetti of Bailey.

She is a 2005 graduate of Rosewood High School, a 2007 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in science and a 2008 graduate of the dental assisting program at Wayne Community College. She is employed as a certified dental assistant at Riccobene Associates.

The groom is the son of William Michael and Donna Eason Donovan of Smithfield, the grandson of Mary H. Austin of Smithfield, the late Tim J. Donovan, Shirley F. Eason and the late Gilliam A. Eason of Smithfield and the stepgrandson of Margaret T. Donovan.

He is a 2005 graduate of Smithfield Selma High School and a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College with a degree in mechanical engineering technology. He is employed as a design engineer at AAR Corp.

The bride was escorted by father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a wedding gown with a strapless satin bodice with beaded embroidery, an organza ball gown skirt and a chapel train

Her headpiece was a tiara accented with rhinestones with a two-tiered fingertip-length veil with dangling teardrop crystals.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of hot pink and orange Gerber daisies, white miniature calla lilies and stephanotis with lily grass loops for a collar.

The stems were wrapped with orange ribbon braided on top with hot pink ribbon pinned together with white pearl pins.

April Pfeiffer was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sarah Poole and Kristy Bridgers, friends of the bride; Jordan Hux, cousin of the bride; and Megan Brown, cousin of the groom.

Michael Donovan was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were William Byrd, Daniel Stancil and Daniel Byrd, friends of the groom, and Jonathan Murphy, cousin of the groom.

Sydney Hux, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.

Meagan Hux, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl. Gavan Donovan, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.

Beth Carr directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Anna Powell, cousin of the groom. Ashley Powell, cousin of the groom, distributed the programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Lisa Beasley, pianist, and Lisa Beasley, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Summer Teague cut the wedding cake.

After their wedding trip to Jamacia, the couple will reside in Smithfield.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous wedding shower June 16 hosted by Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church; a wedding shower June 19 hosted by Riccobene Associates; a wedding shower June 28 hosted by Pine Forest United Methodist Church; a wedding shower July 19 hosted by the groom’s family; and a bachelorette party and lingerie shower Aug. 1 hosted by Kristy Bridgers.

The groom’s family hosted a barbecue rehearsal dinner at Pamona Creech building in Smithfield.
